I was on a Blackpool f c forum earlier today and we were discussing old grounds, the grounds in fact that we would not like to visit again and Watling street was mentioned. Now I appreciate that your club reformed and some of you may not wish to comment on your previous life but I remember we played you at home and away at Watling street on four occasions and all were drawn. Just thought I would take the opportunity of wishing you the best for the future and perhaps we will meet again in the football league.

Sorry, going back to the dark ages, Dartford. They were dark all right. 'Meet your new manager, Graham Carr.'

Watling Street was pretty much on par with many grounds around the basement of the Football League at that time pretty grim . And after the euphoria of the first season and the removal of Keith Peacock from the management post we did have rather grim football to go with it. I do remember that Bloomfield Road as being a building site on all are visits

Remember Bryan falling down the terraces at Blackpool then getting carried around past the home fans to a bit of abuse

Hey if he had been carried past us, we would have given him abuse.

Hey if he had been carried past us, we would have given him abuse. I doubt they'd fancy carrying him now!

Derby's old baseball ground was a complete dump. Their fans complete mouth pieces and ran when the big boys turned up. On the wall down the side of the away fan turnstiles was sprayed millwall never run. No one thought to paint over it, must have been there years. That night put derby my second most hated bunch of arses to date. The most intimidating ground was Leeds when they had that pissy bit of terracing down the side for away fans. Best atmosphere was at any club before all seated except the old Wembley on cup final day.

I remember about 30 of us in Turf Moor. It seemed like a cavern. Then we went one down after 5 mins and it seemed even bigger......
