Just had a look at my old programmes for games versus Enfield and have found 3. I would have seen all of these as I've never bought a Stones home programme for a game not been at. They are: 14.12.83 - Bob Lord Trophy 2nd Round, 2nd Leg 18.11.67 - Isthmian League 09.04.66 - Isthmian League. We won that 2-1 Can't remember any of these as memorable games. I saw them all too - 83/84 Lost 4 - 2 67/68 Lost 6 - 0 65/66 Won 2 - 1 - my first season, when we were quite good, and then it all went pear shaped until 1971.

Wasn't there a famous game where we were going down and they were champions, and "somehow" we beat them? Or was that a) a different team or b) complete imagination on my part?

It might have been Gola League Season 1985-86 Enfield certainly finished top. We stayed upon goal difference 1 Enfield 42 27 10 5 94-47 76 ....... 17 Maidstone United 42 9 16 17 57-66 36 18 Nuneaton Borough 42 13 5 24 58-73 36 19 Dagenham 42 10 12 20 48-66 36 20 Wycombe Wanderers 42 10 13 19 55-84 36 21 Dartford 42 8 9 25 51-82 26 22 Barrow 42 7 8 27 41-86 24

Obviously we beat the Darts to send them down!

The two stowaways on the supporters coach (free trip all the way and back again). One of them asked Julian Farmer for his autograph while he was about to face a corner.

I remembr a 0-2 at London road which must have been mid eighties, but at the risk of upsetting a few people that was of course against the Enfield currently competing in the Essex league.

And I remember Steve Mahoney's only goal for the Stones being a six inch tap in while England Semi Pro keeper Andy Pape was suffering from some kind of temporary palsy?
