Manager Jay Saunders said: “I am disappointed that Danny is leaving. He wants to be playing regular football and has had offers from Ryman South clubs where he’ll get that chance. He’s been great for us over the past three years and has never let us down. He’s a great character and will be sorely missed in the dressing room.”
Guessing that'll be Hythe or Faversham then!

I hope Frank and his minions dont engage the samaritans line all week Just got off the phone to them, I am honestly gutted he has left, he was by far one of the standout players during the play off games last season, he always gave 100% whenever he played, it is such a shame he didn't get to reach 100 games for the club and bows out on 99. I realise he wasn't everybody's cup of tea but to me he was an honest bloke who always did his very best whilst in a Maidstone shirt. Good luck wherever you end up fella Danny Lye Football Genius

Shame Danny's gone, I feel he is exactly what we require when defending a lead & he was instrumental in final third of last year / playoffs. His lack of pace maybe the reason he has not played since being promoted. Good luck with the new challenge Danny!!

I thought the presentation before the Boreham Wood game was jumping the gun a bit as he was only on 99 at that stage. The seems to have been an assumption that he would come on at some point in the game, which of course proved to be unfounded.

Shame Lye has gone at a time our squad is looking a bit threadbare. Ok his starting games nowdays was never gonna be regular so cant blame him for wanting to play more. Played a big part in our promotion and saw out a few wins for us this term too. Good Luck Danny wherever you end up ( im guessing Hythe too) . As for our squad. Can we have two quality players in jay. ? And very soon please ;-). How long is Alex likely to be out for?
