I stand to be corrected by 'Oxford' but isn't Chateaux pap de Neuf the Pope's new castle? 'Toon' most likely drinks it!

Chateauneuf du Pape is, yes. "Castles Pop(e) of Nine" as written above! (Neuf can mean brand-new or nine...) Could be a highly amusing occasion I feel. I intend to bring Oxford Stone Junior and Mrs Oxford Stone to this one.

I was in Bruges on Wednesdya night when I saw the news about this fixture on the OS, so I stopped by the Calais stadium for a look-see yesterday afternoon
What a pukka stadium it is too - a mini superbowl style, all seater and, like the stand at the Gallagher, even the front row seats are about 8 feet above pitch level, all seating is covered - they were cutting the grass yesterday afternoon
- right on the motorway junction, a 1 minute drive from the beer and wine shops, plus there's a large Carrefour about 200 yards (sorry metres) away - less than 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal, and less than 10 from the shuttle - loads of parking immediately outside the ground too
The bloke who manages the beer shop that I use, said they hosted PSG there last year in the Cup (pre Beckham I think) and only narrowly lost 2-3

I got grade E at French A level, does it show? Anyone know if there is anything to occupy the good woman in Calais town for a couple of hours?

Ok! In an attempt to stop all this Frenchie chit-chat and discussions re: circumflex accents. I'd just like to say " UP YER HÂT! " with an umbrella on top and an umlaüt for breakfast. Yes I know umlaut is German.
