Its with much regret that news of the death of bill tucker has come through today. Bill was the main stay of the club when we reformed in the 90s, he managed the team after being the clubs scout during our football league days. Bill was 63.

That truly is sad news. After PBB, Bill Tucker, and his assistant Jack Whitely, was one of the leading lights in getting Maidstone (United) Invicta up and running once more after the dark days of 1992. The amount of time, money and effort he put in behind the scenes - not to mention his ability to spot talented footballers and gel them into an entertaining and successful football team - was unsurpassed at that time. Without Bill Tucker it is very doubtful that Jim Thompson and Paul Bowden-Brown's vision for the football club would have come to fruition. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Completely agree Bryan. Excellent servant at the beginning of the re-birth of the Stones. Deepest condolences to all his family.

Very sad news.A great man who was proud to be a Stones manager.Favorite memories would be winning the Kent Junior cup at Canterbury and Bill coming over to me in the Redhill clubhouse and having a good old chat about the D&J Youth and Div 4 west days.

What sad, sad news. He was certainly instrumental in getting Maidstone Invicta on the map when we re-formed. What a great team he put together and he worked so hard to improve London Road when we were in the KCL. RIP Bill.

I played under Bill in the late 90s and he was a proper football guy and a decent bloke. I am glad to see that his work has not been forgotten. Condolences to his family. Simon Balsdon
