Personally I think they deserve a mention for the dignified way they handled today. They were always up against it and never stopped trying right until the final whistle.
Ray Turner deserves a lot of credit for getting them to the final and their fans should be very proud of them. Lacey, PK, Rowland and Danny handled themselves well and as has been mentioned on other threads deserved the ovation they got.
Turner also acknowledged the Stones fans at the end and for that reason I wish them all the best for next season.

Agreed. Some other teams could learn a lot from them!

Spoke to a few of the lads in the lounge afterwards and all were magnanimous in defect and wished Maidstone luck for next season. Agreed, it was great to see the taking the applause as well at the end. What a fantastic afternoon.

Decent bunch of fans, felt a bit sorry that their team didn't turn up for them yesterday. But they've had a great season and are a small club that are on the up, they should be pushing again next season

Re: those fleet forum posts - What a bitter bunch - personally I'm always pleased when any of the Kent clubs do well, I think it's great for football in this county, the more success the better - it's just a game, if anyone thinks its more than that then you need to get some perspective realignment

I totally agree. Very dignified in defeat and I wish them all the best for next season.

You would think in their position they might want to be a bit more gracious to other Kent clubs, as they will probably soon be asking for the local kent footballing community to help them out of their financial woes. A position that we have been on before. Having read their board we might just say "we only care about Maidstone"!

A relative supports them and is nothing like that. But it does show the danger of rising too high and struggling. I hope we never lose the spirit of adventure and fun, learned the hard way.
