Bloody hell, not seen anything as hardline as that since our days. It's about bloody time though. We have a Pompey fan here at work, and he's sick of it all now. He'd rather they fold and reform than continue as the zombie club that they are at the moment.

The problem the Supporters Association seem to have is that the owners of Fratton park are looking for the price it would fetch for development rather than the price it is worth as a football stadium. Maybe this really is the final straw for Pompey.

Maybe this really is the final straw for Pompey. From what I've been reading, most Portsmouth fans seem to think that this latest bid is from a consortium with links to the owners of Fratton Park, who are trying to regain control of the football club. I believe that there is some sort of covenant protecting Fratton Park as a sports venue, which the council are unwilling to lift to allow development. As far as I know, this is the basis of the Trust's legal position. The dispute over the valuation of the ground is due to be settled in court sometime soon, which should settle the fate of PFC, one way or the other.
