That's all very well, but if we rotated a bit more we could keep more of our better fringe players happy. If we get another couple of injurys if could be struggling again Completely agree with you. Seems a strange one, just trying to figure out some reasoning behind it.

Very strange decision but Jay knows best Hmmm, time will tell on that one! I agree, it does seem odd that we wait all this time to get the lad on the pitch, and then release him, must be something else behind it. He'd been outstanding before the injuryExactly, before injury. He's not the first player who couldn't repeat his performance after coming back...not that I can think of any other examples at the mo, it's a bit early for me!

How much game time has he had to prove himself since he returned from injury?
(17 minutes at Horsham, and 71 minutes v CDG - very harsh to say he's not found form/been anonymous when he's played less than a whole game!)

Good post by Heathside. A bit gutted to see him go , a loan would surely have been a better option but we dont know the full story behind the release of Ben. Warren Whitely has joined Bury Town on loan.

Greenhalgh is looking to move on, had trials at sunny Inverness. I'd be amazed if we manage to keep hold of Brown beyond the end of the season, so there's 2 MFs out of the equation for next season. As posted by 'antstone, Ben has hardly had much game time to prove himself. I can easily see Ben playing a couple of divisions higher, so our loss will be somebody else's gain.

Next season is next season.. if we get promoted we will be bringing in some stronger players anyway.

Absolute class before he got injured. Didn't look anywhere near the same player when he came back. Such a shame but aunfortunately it affects some players that way.

I would have to agree with the statement that some players aren't the same after injury but......
we are talking about a player that has been out for 3 months and had 2 games with less than 90 mins on the pitch FFS!

Really don't get this. Before injury, Ben was a real cog in a side that could really play other teams off the park (... rather than battle to wins). Good at corners too, IMHO. Perhaps there are other reasons. Anyway, a shame, whatever those reason(s). All the best Mr Davisson, you're a cracking player. With that in mind, let's move on to the other Ben. As in Ben "Mr Unavailable" Greenhalgh: He's pretty good at football... looked great when he came on last week. Obviously not right for Ebbsfleet, but has skill. But he's even better good at another - somewhat less popular - passtime. A game called: "not-bothering-to-hide-the fact-that-you-think-the-Ryman-League-is-embarrassing-especially-those-pesky-away-games(-what-IS-my-agent-doing-exactly)." Epic fail on shortening that. Sorry. www.kentonline.co.uk/kent_messenger/sport/2013/february/1/ben_greenhalgh.aspx well I agree with you Jay, but he's just so... well, Unavailable. ;-)

Agree entirely Steve that we will indeed be looking to bring in new blood next season, but I think a lot of the comments made on this subject seem to suggest that Ben was more than capable of making the step up with us. I know he had a bad injury whilst at Charlton as well, so wondering if this is the reason.

If it was simply about cutting the budget why not release one of our five forwards...

If it was simply about cutting the budget why not release one of our five forwards... indeed, heard king is on a fair wedge and he hasn't performed yet.
