Just to allow the supporter's club thread to get on topic, I thought I'd chuck this one in.
Yes certain coaches have been rowdy, but alcohol has not been drunk on board any Stones coach since the issue was first raised (Needham Market).
Ramsgate was a bit noisy on the way back with a few still well oiled from christmas who topped themselves up IN Ramsgate - not on the way, nor on the way back.
However, if anyone wants a loophole... Run a dry coach and a wet coach if there is the demand. It is only illegal to drink on sporting specific coaches/buses. So, if we were to run one to Bognor Regis next year, the dry coach can go to the football and drop off at Nyewood Lane...and a separate - non football coach - can just take a group into the town centre for a day out in the town. Simples x

An interesting idea, but I don't really think it's necessary. A lot of people who go on the coaches like a drink, but I don't think it's their sole motivation for using the coach. First and foremost people go to watch the football. As I said in the other thread, the atmosphere on the coaches is usually fine and plenty of kids have been on the coaches in the past. I don't think anybody has a need to be concerned about booking a seat on a Stones coach.

I don't think anybody has a need to be concerned about booking a seat on a Stones coach. A main reason for suggesting it was that for one coach last year (Whitehawk) there were 2 people who didn't get off the coach to go to the pub before the game. Choosing instead to just sit and wait for everyone else to return. This was obviously uncomfortable for everyone else. Alcohol wouldn't be mandatory on the "wet" coach but it would just give the option. On a side note, at what age does someone become a middle aged boozer?

On a side note, at what age does someone become a middle aged boozer? Down in Hampshire, it's probably when you start using phrases like "on a side note"!

I hope this isn't a reference to the likes of Trolley and Butch that require toilet breaks every 20 mins
