Wow what a game, I have to be honest when they pegged us back at 2-2, I thought the worst, but the lads came out 2nd Half and got a quick 3rd goal scored by the fantastic Shaun Welford and never really looked back especially when we got a well deserved 4th before conceding either a world class shot or a very fortunate cross that went in of the post, well done lads on a very hard fought win on what can only be described as a cabbage patch of a pitch.

Porters pre match gamesmanship came back to haunt him in a big way, how up for it was Shaun ? I was desperate for him to get a third. Great kent darby, that in previous seasons we would have gone on to loose after being pegged back. A bit sloppy at the back, but what a belter of a game.

Wasn't there today due to much more important things. Will try and help put the will he won't he thing with Shaun to bed. A couple of us spoke with him last night. His reaction was why would he want to leave. He is club captain, plays at a great ground in front of a damn good crowd.
He moved from Dover to Margate and took a drop in money as he didn't want to warm the bench. He left Margate as he didn't want to keep driving down that way 3 times a week and doesn't fancy doing it aagain.
If they were to offer a bucket load of money he may think about it but who the hell wouldn't.
Can we get back to talking about the football now.

Oh well at least Mr Importance has confirmed it now.
Enjoyed the second half after a cross-country dash from Tenterden to get there. Not a classic performance but certainly exciting and a good 3 points against some high-fliers at their place on a poor pitch.
H'Way the lads. i'll be working for the Horsham game so will hope for good news.

It does mention our wanting Dave Cook, which was, I believe, a tongue-in-cheek comment made on another thread

I don't believe such stories about an alledged falling out between Jay and King, there is no way Jay could have picked King yesterday instead of Draycott, not after he scored 2 goals against Sittingbourne, lets see what happens on Tuesday night.

Don't know about falling out...but I don't think they've fallen in very well

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at I've yesterday, credit to the locals for organising the car parking at the RH&D railway station Thought our lads put in a first rate performance against a decent side, they were third after all, and on a very tricky surface in parts. And on that point, I reckon at least one of their forced substitutions was due to the lad getting stuck in the mud and twisting his ankle, wouldn't have happened on 3G Welford was awesome the whole game, that 3 match layoff has done him and us good, laid on both goals v Sittingbourne, scored 2 yesterday and was instrumental in the other 2. Mickey Philips seems to have got back to some really good form too in the last few games which is really pleasing to see Great singing too, created a brilliant atmosphere which I'm sure lifted our lads and to which Jay paid credit in the post match interview - seeing Stuart King applauding the fans at the end of the game yesterday, he didn't look like a player who'd fallen out with anyone, sounds like another Hythe spoiler to me Horsham next then and with Leatherhead the only other top side playing in midweek, we could be back top of the table by the time we take on CDG on Saturday. What a week in prospect, 2 games to look forward too, and I'll be at both
