Andrews/Humphrey definitely our first choice centre backs, but after a shaky start Greenfield has started to look like the player he was before his injury last season. It's taken him a few games to settle in but we did look a lot more solid yesterday against a side that were only just outside the playoff places.
We could have been more clinical but who cares, it was all about the performance for me, much better, and with key players still to come back. Played with good tempo, pace and power and great work rate from everybody. We won all the key battles and dominated in all areas. Welford was a handful all day. Draycott's best game by far for us. Brown is just different class. Tim O again a rock. I was unsure on the formation? Looked like we set up as 4-4-2 and switched to 4-5-1 when it suited. Just a tad narrow in midfield at times without Flisher. Disappointing to concede at the end but 3 points in the bag and hopefully thats us unbeaten for another 15!
Can the subject title be edited please? "Maidstone United 2 - 0 Sittingbourne 1" is ever so slightly confusing
I assumed the topic title was a reference to Ian announcing it wrongly at the end of the game
I have changed the thread name, sorry about the error but i have just got over a bad cold
“ What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love"
