It would still have been three points if we'd scored more than one! That's the problem - when you're only 1 up, you're always just an accident or a mistake away from losing two points. OK, if we score late and salvage a draw, but when we do score early, we can't seem to profit from it. We are a pretty good footballing side at the moment, sometimes even spectacularly good, and we've got plenty of players who can score goals - but somehow we don't. Is it psychological, or a strategy/tactics thing, or what?? Sort that out and we are championship contenders. But if we carry on like this, and we'll be lucky to make the play-offs. Imo luck will have nothing to do with it. If we carry on playing like this we will make the play-offs, 100% definite. You're right - just worked it out, and if we carry on the way we've played since Chelmsford, we end up on 84 points - which, on the FWP predicted final table, puts us 2nd!

Cool. Who do we want in the playoffs? Who do we keep from the squad for next season?

More weird stats:
We are 2nd on the form table (last 6 games) - 3rd on away games
and 15th on home games...
On draws, we top the table on 7 - on least games lost we are 3rd - on fewest goals conceded we are 4th
and 14th on games won - 17th on goals scored...

Shame on you. You must get behind Lodivica. Zero criticism permitted. Btw given you interest in statistics, is the any way you can find out Harry's average goal count per season over the last 5 years ?

You have read some things and drawn a completely fictitious point of view for a set of people. It’s like the “Keir is calling me a right wing thug for not wanting illegal immigrants roaming the streets” argument…no, he called the thugs out rioting right wing thugs. No one had said criticism isn’t allowed. In fact everyone to a man (or woman) seems to have drawn the same conclusion,

The scum who attacked our police, attempted to burn down hotels housing asylum seekers, robbed local shops and terrorised local residents were thugs. Don't care about right wing, left wing or central midfield.

Here we go again woody, it is wierd how some people persist in finding an angle to re-introducing the debate on immigration, when the discussion is actually about the prowess of our football players.

I guess you can reasonably say that the thugs were inspired by a political ideologue. Our history demonstrates time and time again that migrants of any colour or faith, whatever their country of origin, legal or illegal, are commonly unwanted by their 'hosts'.

Lodivica has had enough chances. I've rarely seen a sub subbed off, but I've never seen it happen two games in a row - to the SAME player!! Lodvica wasn't subbed off against Hornchurch so you haven't seen it happen to him either

Ah. It was just an example of people heading one thing and then saying another and it should be called out. Yeah let’s not go down that rabbit hole

Btw given you interest in statistics, is the any way you can find out Harry's average goal count per season over the last 5 years ? As the legendary Jimmy Greaves once said "Its's a funny old game" Just looked up Harry Lodivica's goal count over a footballing career spanning from 2017/18 to 2023/24. That's 7 seasons. His total goals tally over this period is 18 goals. Best season was in 19/20 when he bulged the onion bag on 6 occasions. That was for a club called Northwood fc, an outfit that struggles in the central division of the Ishmian League. So he averages 2.57 goals per season. How good is that ? But George must have seen something in Lodo that challenges the idea that player recruitment should take account of statistics, experience, accomplishments and delivering results. NWS, contrary as ever, has also observed something in the player that gives him reason to think the boy has talent. Harry is now in his 26th year on this planet, he needs to prove something to the rest of us and soon.

George sees something in Lodovica - despite the overwhelming opinion that he is useless, he continues to play him - even to the extent of risking losing 2 points in most games.
George also has twice subbed Lodovica off, a few minutes after subbing him on, in both the last two games.
As Mr Spock might say - "does not compute".

It seems to be all about 'The triumph of hope over experience'. Somehow expecting everything to be amazing in the future, when history tells us the opposite. Every aspect of Harry's footballing career evidences that he's not a striker at all. His career goal tally is abysmal. He has not been any sort of a success for any club at any level, at any time. Any yet here we are, he's earning a decent living as a professional footballer, this time compliments of the paying customers at the Gallagher. It's not just about opinions, it's about facts too. Staring everybody in the face. Sometimes, facts are stranger than fiction.

More stats (nothing to do with Lodovica):
Only just discovered that if you measure the complete perimeter of something on Google Maps, it also gives you the area.
So I measured the old ground and the new ground.
JWW is 17k m2. The Athletic Ground (aka London Road) site is 31k m2 - nearly twice (82%) bigger.
Even if you ignore the old reserves/training pitch, the old site is still 18% bigger than JWW.
Not in anyway dissing the new stadium, I think it is a vast improvement on the old ground. But it does put in perspective the problems we have (will have) in trying to develop JWW.
