Why do we not have players names on our shirts? Slough do. Dorking do Even Tonbridge Angels do! Is it cheap skating or we have too much of a revolving door recruitment policy? Makes us look a bit 2nd rate

Because at £5 a letter, Papadopolous would use up the budget.

Can imagine plenty of mugs would pay extra for shirts with player names on, or even their own.

Makes us look a bit 2nd rate I've often wondered the same. With a rotating squad every season I think it would help people become more familiar with the players. My dad has been more than I have this season and can just about remember Blair because he's started scoring recently but don't think he can name many beyond that. Not having names is second to having a badge printed onto the shirts fabric. All feels a bit cheap to me. Hopefully we sack off Macron soon for a better make.

What is even worse if you buy a programme expecting to be able to identify the players you will be disappointed as they do not all wear a shirt with the number shown in the programme. The teams page has to be reset each time to show the away team so why is the home team not kept up to date?

They are free, although I usually give a quid when I take one (unless I've bought a programme). TBH I only buy programmes as occasional souvenirs (Cup games, etc), they're pretty much useless for everything else.

As for names on shirts, it's just about the only thing I miss from our NL days. My eyes aren't brilliant and I am terrible at face recognition, so shirt names are really useful to me, especially at the start of the season.
But this season I've been using teamsheets more, so at least I know who is who for each game and this has helped me to recognise the players a lot better. Even Trusty's new hair style didn't catch me out yesterday! Although it took me a while to work out who Fonkeu was, especially as he was mostly on the other side of the pitch.
So, yes, I'd rather we had names on shirts, but, given the rotation of players we've tend to have, I can see that it's an extra expense the club doesn't need.
But, I do wonder what the point of squad numbers is if at least we don't stick to players having allocated numbers.

Are you making a point about Greenidge?

Are you making a point about Greenidge? No. He had to replace his shirt (presumably because of a blood stain?). This seems to happen at every game these days!
