I wonder if he'll get an opportunity to come on the pitch at half time in a future game for a proper send off? He's become a cult hero around these parts so don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility - he really bought into the club and the fans. I for one would love to see Joan get to have a proper send off now he's retired.

It would be good to give him the sort of send-off Hoyte had. I've often wondered how things would have turned out if he hadn't been injured. At the very least, we would probably have survived in the NL - possibly even done quite well. But, we'd still have Happy Hayrettin in charge... Overall, much as I'd loved to see Luque carry on where he left off, and painful as relegation was, I think we're in a better place now as a result.

He was - I think either he or the club shared a picture at one point? I was thinking the exact same thing: would we have stayed up with Luque in the NL? I doubt it personally, as much as I like the idea of it. We were just so out of our depth that season it would have taken more than just poor Joan chiming in with a goal here or there. You're right though - the little things affect the big things and things don't happen when things don't change. The FA cup run likely doesn't happen for instance.

Let's not forget that the true name of the 'Genco' end of the ground is the Elvis End. And he was a true Stones legend.

I guess there’s quite a few in the Genco who are too young to remember Elvis and wouldn’t consider him a legend. They are a new generation who came after the wilderness years and unfortunately he passed before they could have known him.

True enough daveu, but Elvis earned his legend status over many years and deserves the title.
