I can't see us signing 2 keepers. I expect it will be one keeper, with the 'bench keeper' coming from the U23s or u18s. We'd then get a loanee keeper in if the first choice gets injured.

Would love to see a real tank of a holding midfielder! If Bone wasn't good enough, then Im expecting a decent signing for that position!

So we have 16 outfield players signed. Add 2 'keepers then surely that's enough as some won't even make the bench. Quality not quantity please. I think you need 4 or 5 more outfield players. You’ve always got 3 or 4 out with injuries or being rested. or suspended

As much as I liked Sam Bone I think that fitness may have been his downfall, he never really recovered from the calf injury he picked up prior to the Ipswich game. He never really strung a run of games together after that, only appearing in the most important games and seemed to be struggling towards the end of 90 mins

This is excellent news. I'd rather have both Matts, but if I'd had to chose one, it would have been Bentley. More thoughts on the way George is assembling his squad this season: Last season was George's first and he was very much learning the ropes, so I would guess he picked quite a few players who he wasn't entirely sure of. Some turned out to be good, others not quite what George wanted. The result was a constantly changing squad, with George tinkering with it almost to the end. Arguably, by March/April, he had something like the squad he wanted, but, even then, it was still a work in progress. This season, he will have learnt from that and is doing his best to pick the right players from the outset, players who will be with us all season. So, definitely quality and a slow, steady build, not the rush to make up the numbers we had last year. Having said that, I still expect George to be constantly tinkering with the squad! That's just George - he's never going to settle for second-best.

Interesting analysis of Georges squad building record. I hope I am wrong, but I expect this squad to be just the same revolving door throughout the season as it was last season I think George is just hard to please consistently week in week out and so the new arrivals probably need to pick the brains of Corne Dog, Reiss, Raphe, Bivesh etc on how to keep in his favour, as you if you dont, you dont stay around the Gallagher for long! Whats happened to Jephte? Would be great if we could get him back.

Tanga still appears to be without a club. He considers himself to be a mid fielder (a bit short) rather than a winger.
I suspect he has ambitions to play in the football league and is probably having trials with league clubs.

This goal keeper malarkey is giving me some sleepness nights. The fact is we need 2 shot stoppers and havn't managed to sign one yet. Not got a good feeling about it.

I think we'll only sign one keeper and use U23 keeper on the bench. Probably get a loan in if our no.1 keeper gets injured. If we have a limited budget to have 2 front line keeper's would seem a waste.

Whats happened to Jephte? Would be great if we could get him back. Tanga will be getting offers from bigger clubs than us, so I would give up any hopes of seeing him returning to Maidstone.

Looks like we've signed an excellent replacement for Matt Rush x.com/Vanarama
