Shak's interview was dull enough to listen to for any longer than 30 seconds, let alone 'the whole 3 minutes'.
Just hope he shows a lot more interest and motivation on the field of play.

The only thing that worries me at the moment is that we don't seem to be able to hang on to players like Rush and Bentley (let alone Tanga and Faal). Still early days, I suppose, and we might yet get some good news, but the longer it goes on, the less likely it seems they'll re-sign. I understand, of course, the realities of football at this level and the budget restraints, players' own career interests, etc. But (without checking the stats) it seems like this didn't use to happen so much - we used to be able to hang on to at least some of the fans' favourites. If, at the end of the day, George assembled a better team that does the job, then obviously that's more than fine. But I miss the days when the players that did so well the previous season were still there the next one. It's the lack of continuity, I suppose, the feeling that each season we start again from scratch, instead of building on the success of the previous season. If that's the way it has to be,then so be it, but I guess I'm an old romantic and I always used to look forward to welcoming last season's heroes back again to see how they would get on this year. Oh bugger. Where did Rush go?

Brilliant post JDL and my thoughts entirely. The lack of ability to want to keep or able to keep players who proved themselves in FA Cup and league is sad. I guess those days of loyalty are long gone!

I guess those days of loyalty are long gone! I kind of see the point and I also feel a bit sad that players I liked are moved on, but ultimately we finished 4th in a league where 3rd or 4th was the absolute minimum we should have finished. If we want to improve and finish higher and even go up, then changes need to be made to make that happen and to sustain a place in the NL. Whether those changes make this happen is obviously up for debate now and then either will or won’t make it happen this coming season. But you need to try and improve.

I think Faal is likely to find a club nearer to home, I read that he found the 2 hour each way journey to training tiring particularly during Ramadan He crashed his car into the wall surrounding the Bewl reservoir twice. It was Ram a Dam.

Again hearing rush to Sutton. Be a shame but that’s a really good move for him if it happens

Now that we are up to date on stadium developments, it would be good to hear of progress with player signings. No goal-keeper yet and well short on attacking players. The club has announced a 'meet the players' meeting in a couple of weeks. Hope we don't do like last season and look at a shed-load of trialists who couldn't get a contract elsewhere and who mostly didn't have much to offer.

Barely half the squad has been recruited
Most disappointing is the number of last season's squad who havn't rejoined despite being offered new contracts.
The old chestnut we've heard about some of our players being slow of the mark because of extended holidays doesn't wash.
Its for the birds!
Terry has made it clear that its all about money.

Hopefully it will be, but wishful thinking doesn't pay the rent.
