How did you guys get through life? You don’t need to start every message on a forum with “In my opinion” - it is taken that it is. Also, just let it go over your head. Don’t get caught up in a tit for tat Or at least caught up with a tit

I was anticipating, nay hoping for, a reasonably sensible response from nws
But he's disappointed again.

The suggestion that George should have retained more players does not seem to acknowledge that most of those leaving were the very players who have been injured for long spells. Of those, Sole seems to have decided to head for Scotland before the end of his contract, presumably why Livingston announced he had signed a pre-contract agreement for a two year deal plus a further one year option rather than a more common contract announcement. I guess that we would have found it very difficult to compete on the contract security front and possible wages too. As for Faal he is surely a Havant player until the end of his 2023/4 contract with them. It seems right that he should not be poached by us whilst still under contract elsewhere. This is the same as Appiah, Tanga and Adu-Poku. No doubt George will have spoken to them about their future plans. As they are released George would be free to talk further with any of those he would like to sign for next season. I wonder what Appiah's situation at Leicester might be now they have been promoted to the Premier League. Would Appiah make their first team squad for next season or might he be released or loaned out for the season? Although he did not play in the last few games of our season should we try to sign him if he were available?

Just like in the SCEFL this season, where Faversham Town, with a whopping budget and run-away favourites, were expected to walk the league by a country mile. You never know. I was planning to go to the SCEFL First Division play off today between Larkfield & New Hythe vs Staplehurst Monarchs, but I had my Covid booster this morning and was feeling sorry for myself, and didn’t know where the ground was, so didn’t go. But I see that the attendance was 828, pretty remarkable for that level. While Chelmsford may disagree and call it unfair, there’s no doubt the play off system is popular with the fans. Oh, Larkfield won 1 - 0.

In a sense what George has done this week is the easy bit.
I dont mean emotionally easy but it does demonstrate that George is well able to make tough decisions.
Easy because George (along with his coaches) has had months of first hand experience observing the efforts and performance levels of the players he has let go.
He wants better for the club and believes he can do just that.
Stones will flourish or suffer under his stewardship but I think we have every reason to be confident in his abilities.
A fair bit of moaning can be found on facebook (what a surprise) as supporters favourites have been discarded.
To describe George as ruthless is perhaps unfair, he is just doing, in a single minded fashion, what he thinks is right and in the best interests of the club.
He gets my vote of confidence !

Oh, Larkfield won 1 - 0. I played at L&NH in the 80s. In the second half I was so clear through their defenders stopped bothering to chase me. As I went to chip the keeper, the ball bobbled. I hit the corner flag and the ball stayed in. Embarrassing misses no 245

Very interesting.
I imagine that L&N supporters remember it well and is still talked about in the club-house today.
It is such moments that legends are born.

But there again I’m still shocked that on the one hand big George can speak about how the Management Team treat the players as people first and bang on about strength in the Group and then axe most of them! Ruthless. He also signed Klass on deadline day to do a job for us then dumps him. If this is Plan B then Plan A must have been a bloodbath! A retained list of 2? Corne and Covolan? In George we trust but he does strike me as someone who’s your best friend when he likes you but if you fall out of favour with him it’s a very sudden and big drop. Devonte and Razzaq will I’m sure testify to that.
