Quite the come down from 27000 at Coventry to a few hundred in the miserable gulag that is Dover. A win is very much needed, so COYS.

Games like this are ones that you should go and win but it's a Kent Derby so who knows. I wish I could go but work prevents me. Now my little ones have started doing basketball and they have their first match arranged for next Saturday. I nervously await the time of this.

Talking Dover, they just posted a loss of £150k for l year with the much maligned Jim Parmenter dipping his hand in his pocket again to cover it (£120k share issue).
Are there any sustainable clubs around??
A family friend who is a Dover (and Ramsgate fan oddly) told me that they fans are in that weird situation of being totally reliant on JP but also criticising every he does. He has alienated the fans and community totally.

No one will buy them from him and they will only become any good if the whole venture closes paying out the shareholders what is left, and that means no club, unless someone buys the whole ground/land for a mountain resort and he can relocate the club whilst showing a profit.

Never been to Dover, was thinking about going on Saturday. Is it that bad? They generally cram you in one little corner and leave the majority of the stand behind the goal empty so that their fans can change ends at half time. After you've clambered up the mud strewn hill to get to the away end you will physically searched, insulted and generally treated like shit. If you want something to eat then join a Q with only one person serving and by the time you get served it'll be half way through the second half just in time to see Dover score the only goal of the game to thoroughly ruin your day.At least there are a couple of good pubs to use before the game and the Dover supporters are generally good people and they only really hate Dartford and boy do they hate Dartford.

It avoids putting the loan on the books which would make it a less attractive club to purchase or invest in. If he does it this way he gets equity. Admittedly the equity isn’t really worth anything unless they have a buyer.

Why do you always understate your real feelings swordy ? Personally, I can't bring myself to line Parmenter's pockets on Saturday either. Such an inhospitable club for away fans. Starting with a long hilly climb, aggressive stewards, disgusting catering, shocking beer and vile toilets. Thank goodness it is no longer a bank holiday fixture. If there's a God, Dover will find themselves in the Ishmian League next season.

Never been one to mince my words Nick and I've just been unceremoniously kicked off of the We Love Tonbridge Faceache site for doing just that very thing. How dare I criticise the Tory partyin the Tory heartland of Kent plus the admin lady is a local Tory Councillor. Swordy making friends as usual🤣🤣🤣🤣

I noticed that the game against Dartford recently appeared to not be segregated on tv highlights. The games in the past between Maidstone and Dover were never segregated and I was not aware of any trouble with the fans showing mutual respect towards each other.I think Jim Parmenter has never forgiven us for the stance we took over covid funding and wants to make our experience as unpleasant as possible.
