It’s not rocket science is it. We are playing much better teams and our team is currently weaker than last season so what are people expecting?? In Hak we trust ?

Sadly, August attendances are usually below average. Supporters like me are on holiday with the family. If you are on holiday in football season then you are not a fan. With love From France🤣🤣 Staying in Oliver's Chateau Adrian ?

I feel the next step in the ground expansion should be to join the main stand and the Genco stand together. That corner area can then be used for the away supporters. It has their own separate entrance and you can put catering units underneath. Then we would not have to segregate the Genco. I am sure this would be cheaper than building the riverside stand at the moment. Now that's the best idea that I've heard for a long time but then I'm sure someone will come up with a reason why it wouldn't be possible !

The referee was to blame! We were leading when Tonbridge got a penalty. The official reckoned our goalie moved before the ball was kicked. My scrapbook showed Stones fans disagreed by booing for 2 minutes! After that we lost hope. I just wondered if you knew when a side containing Danny Wiltshire, Dennis Cutbush, Mickey Everett, and Michael Broad played. Michael Broads dad was a friend of the family, and we went to London Road quite often to watch him play, and away matches also. I had to go as my parents wouldn't let me and my brother stay at home on our own. We did this journey from Wembley where we lived, and I think it took us a good 2-3 hours drive back then. I'm in my 70s now and I just wondered what age I was then. I never expected to end up getting married and living in Gravesend, and working in Ashford, then finding out our next door neighbours son played for Fleet. At a guess it would be between 60-63. I went to school with Danny Witshire's son from 1961 and went to a lot of games around that time but don't remember a Michael Broad. Danny Wiltshire was the goalkeeper when The Stones were Corinthian League Champions in 1955-56 . I’ve been wondering about how to survive and prosper in the National League this time around. Bromley and Sutton are two similar sized clubs who used to live with us at a lower level and could be role models. What did they do differently? Last time we clung to a part time structure too long and switched too late. Is it about behind the scenes infrastructure and fitness training that costs money? This time there are even more big ex league teams than ever, including some major subsidising of wages. Our ground capacity was only 3000, but may still need future consideration. Nobody imagines we are going to take this league by storm, but it would be nice not to be perennial strugglers. It’s also time for the local business community to step forward. Rumours reaching swordy towers that the club are in talks with 6 investors with the view to investing around £500,000 each. I have no detais so don't ask but the info received was from one of the 6 parties involved. I will not at this time divulge his name. Give us a clue ? Do they live up the Sutton or Loose Road ?

Quite a surprise - he looks so calm and composed on the pitch. Incidentally, my vote for supporter's player of the year (close call between Deacon and Binnon-Williams). Roarie doesn't get enough credit. Luque, Jack and JBW get all the plaudits, but Roarie just goes quietly about his business, consistently putting in 7 or 8 out of 10 performances. George Fowler never seems to get any mentions from anyone and yet he seems to been been mainstay of the team all season

Of course Maidstone needs more flats. Where are fleeing Londoners going to live? I seem to remember that they grubbed out all the Apple, Pear and Cherry Orchards in Allington for them to live there in my day ?

As someone pointed out earlier, the players concerned probably donned the wrong shirts before kick-off and swapped to comply with the teamsheet. The official who submitted teamsheet would have noticed and probably alerted the manager and referee at half-time. You could argue it would have been simpler just to carry on with the same numbers, and it's definitely a schoolboy error for which they're liable to be fined if the referee includes it in his report, but it's unlikely to be a dastardly plan to gain an unfair advantage and I'm sure the Maidstone camp would have been made fully aware of the swaps. When goalies get sent off and there's no sub, an outfield player puts their shirt on - so two players have played in the no 1 shirt in one game. OK, so it's not going to confuse the ref in that case, but it does make you wonder just how important numbers are. I'm pretty sure that the ref writes the players name in his little book, not just the number, when he books someone (which must be fun with some of the names we ge these days!). On a related note, I'm fairy certain that numbers on shirts weren't mandatory until fairly recently. In rugby there used to be a side that played with letters instead (although, now I write that, it sounds like something I've imagined!). You've been watching too much netball jdl !!!!

IF we go up and IF oldham go down will it be the first time Maidstone have met another team on level terms who used to ply their trade in the top flight? Incredible when you think an ex premier league team could be playing non league football next season Knowing our luck, Scunthorpe will survive and Carlisle and Barrow will come down That would suit me up here in The Lakes. 😉
