Seems such an 'odd' number to me 'even' if you are right Loose. I guess it depends on who is counting though ? Do the Trolley Buses still run up your way ? If and when the Stones go Pro again they will then be able to keep young ( raw ) talent like Kaiyne and Alfie. Hopefully until then Jay will be able to attract - Tax Man allowing - a strong enough squad to hold their own next season.

Sorry - I stand corrected . But are not those the traits of all football supporters to wind everyone up - even if you are on the same side ?? Just got in from the England C International game. Bermuda kids held up well at 1-2 at half time but ended up losing 1-6. Nahki Wells would have made a difference but apparently was not available due to the girls beach volleyball tournament he had to attend on Horseshoe Bay - must have been much more 'Riveting ' than this Forum ? Just a Chuckle.

OK NWS we forgive you for starting the Oldies and Newbies thing!!!! When you get transported to ' The Colonies' for your sins, it is real hard to travel to the outer reaches of Kent to follow your Home team even if you wanted to! Until the invention of the Internet I never got to many games in the past 40yrs but thanks to Stones Live and MUTV we now get highlights. Great credit to all the Folks who kept the team going - Ted Winter would of been so proud to have seen the new Stadium and the Fans. I see you guys are playing in Europe ( well Calais ) soon. England 'C' are playing the Bermuda National team here tomorrow night. Ebbs fleet and Dover Goalkeepers are in the England squad. We don't get many International games over here but if The Stones ever wanted to go 'International' on a pre- season tour - I have plenty of Beer and some contacts!

England C are playing the Bermuda National team here in the next few days. A couple of keepers from Dover and Ebbs are in the team? When you Guys get fed up with your European Tours let us know and we will arrange for The Stones to go International !! P.S. Keep up the good work MUTV. Trust you get your new gantry soon!

Four strikers if you count Young Alfie who according to posts Jay was going to give more 1st team outings to before he got consumed up in The Lions Den - that is . Hopefully a new Super Striker will be discovered at the Directors/ Fans game for Frannie to partner up front with !! After all Football Directors can be very ' cagey ' you know. Now this game HAS to have highlights on MUTV please? Hopefully filmed from the new TV gantry on the 1/2 way line perhaps ? - A ground improvement priority for us ex pats. in partnership with MUTV and Stones Live. Just a chuckle .

Good point Ant. Seems a pity to lose an obviously talented young player to whatever the rules ? Good luck to the lad - a lot of Stones Fans will follow his progress - I'm sure. You never know perhaps he will come back on a Free Transfer one day! Looks like Jay has it covered with his a new addition to the Pee Wee Team though ?! Do we have a name for the new signing yet? Does he have anymore new signings in the pipe line as of yet ? Just a chuckle!

Why have an Academy and get rid of your best players ?

Well that is an answer to AdO 's point about how many kids can step up I guess. Good luck to Alfie at The Den. Perhaps one day talented kids will stay at The Stones Academy, play for the 1st team and then get their chance to progress for a Transfer Fee ? - of course!!
Just a Thought.

I know that JT - that was the reason for the question!!!
Thanks Ohrururuwho ? for more positive statistics. Do they include all The Academy honours at U18 ?
I agree with your ' real success ' point as to how many players actually step up to the first team. A lot of Football league teams are doing away with their Academies for financial reasons , which in the past has produced some great players. Not The Stones !!!? Maidstone United , an Amateur Club, ? Has over 40 teams and at whatever level or disability seem to be producing some more ' Great Players ' from all the Kids? Alfie, Dan and Jack sound like great prospects. It would be great to see more video highlights of some non 1st Team Games.
MUTV -
Get The Kids on Board!
Just a thought.

Does anyone know how many Cups and Leagues the various Maidstone United teams have won this season?

Hi , Stoned Boys ? That pitch at London Road had more puddles than grass as far as I can remember.
Head. Thanks for that memory Dude, . I seem to remember that a man named Knocker , who used to play mean darts up at The Saxon Chief and apart from digging graves for Barming Hospital and having the best racing pigeons in town. -
Was he the source of those dodgy tickets?
Regards to all and thanks for your memories of our Home Team.
Leafy Lane Boy.

Can we get back now, to the more important statistics please? In what season did The Stones attract a crowd of 10 to 15 thousand people , depending on where you were standing of course, for a game ?? Probably around that time someone else was being very divisive is my guess ?
Great to see Goal of the Season come up on Stones TV and it is much appreciated. Time to find a pin and close my eyes to vote - all great goals in their different ways ?

When the words ' Stuart King' become two swear words then that will be the time he becomes more divisive than the two that keep being repeated on this thread! I think that a moderator should be appointed to ban anybody using foul language!! Give the kid a chance - no one could ever be more divisive even amongst 2000 folk - yet. Mind you I have never seen Stuart king in action - unlike the other two words !! I totally agree with you Ant for what it is worth.

Here is one for you Oxford and anyone who can remember football rattles. I have admit to having one painted one side Blue and White for Gills and other Amber and Black for The Stones when I was last a kid , that is. I have a good excuse though - I was born in Brompton Military Hospital and my earliest recollection of going to watch a game of football was with my Dad and Uncles on the terracing at Priestfield in the 50's. When my Dad left the army we moved to Maidstone and I was allowed to go and watch a football game on my own and spent many hours watching games from the corrugated terrace on the Sharp's Toffee side of the ground in the 60's ! We had some GOOD songs then!!! Still 1399 Tony and Ox , I'm afraid , since I have not attended any games this season. I have offered to play in The Directors game , just for traveling expenses of course, but to date I have had not been signed up !!! Do I qualify as a New Oldie or Old Newbie ? Just a chuckle.
