Off thread, sorry, but my foggiest game was in September 1966, when Gillingham played Arsenal in a League Cup replay. At our end, we could almost see to the halfway line, but had no-idea what was happening at the far end. I couldn’t understand how the ref was able to control the game, but apparently it was a 1 - 1 draw, Charlie Rackstraw scoring Gillingham’s goal with a penalty, equalising Tommy Baldwin’s opener. Strangely enough I was at that game with my Dad and Uncle we stood on the old Town End terrace and we had a great view of the fog rolling in from the Medway but not of the game

Let’s say 45% of 25,000 x average £20 = £225,000 gate receipts. You can say it if you like but way optimistic attendance estimate, specially with live tv. Firstly Ipswich may average 28,000 which is amazing but an FA cup tie will not attract the interest of a league match versus League opponents for Ipswich fans.. Secondly, Stones have not got the pulling power of Arsenal or Liverpool. Thirdly, people can stay at home in the warm and watch it for nothing. I think 16,000 - 18,000 is a more realistic expectation, with maybe 3,000-4,000 away supporters. Anybody more is a bonus. Gate receipts for Stones to be much nearer £140,000 imo. No need to exaggerate, anything like 140k is still brilliant. The icing in the cake comes with the additional £110k TV money. So £250k for a single match. Very happy days

A variety of the message board's finest will be long soon, apoplectic with rage, to tell you this should be elsewhere Nope, Dartford is a 100% shithole and seeing Medway is no longer part of Kent has no opposition from there. In my opinion Maidstone will soon be challenging at the top of the worst places to live in Kent. On Wednesday I was threatened and called a cu@t by a pissed up wanker who wanted a fag, I tried to tell him i didn't smoke and so he told me he'd take £20 to go and buy some instead. Now if these tossers are like that with a man who is just shy of 6ft tall an 26 stone what chance would any young woman have if it had been her instead of me. I guess that the days of being the "Capital" of the "Garden of England " have long gone then Sword ? That started a long time ago when they grubbed out all the orchards and hop fields to build houses for London. Progress is a wonderful thing ? COYS

Didn’t impress either on Boxing Day or today. Holds the ball up well but is slow and lumbering with the turning circle of a supertanker. Glad we didn’t sign him (if it was ever on the cards). Mmm ! Is this the same daveu who thought that those of us who said we relied 'too much' on Levi for goals were over egging it. As for the brother, I think he's decent and would get plenty of goals in a Stones shirt. Levi didn't always look great but he compensated with goals. George will recruit us a striker soon enough. He could do worse than Jordan. Jays take on todays game - www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuFenVg11CY

If it wasn’t in his release clause, neither he nor Bromley would have any incentive to give us a sell on clause. But he loved the club so much why would he not want us to benefit, anyway 20% of f**k all when he signs for Dulwich in 12 months isn't worth having. Come on now Swordy somethings better than nothing as Granny Kemp always use to say?

So bored of the threads in this forum I thought I’d stir the memories with a team of my childhood stones favourites. GK 1. Derek Bellotti RB 2. Jimmy McVeigh LB 3. Chris Kinnear CB 4. Kenny Hill CB 5. Mark Newson M 6. Glenn Aitken M 7. Ross Irvine M 8. Dave Crush RIP CF 9. Andy Woon F. 10. Phil Stonebridge F. 11 John Daubeny Subs Norman and Ricky Fusco, Kenny Wallace, Colin Priestley and Barry Watling I’m sure I’ve forgotten loads if good uns and they weren’t all at the club at the same time but these are the ones that came to my memory. What about yours? Now this depends on how far back that you want to go ! 3 players always jump out for me - Danny Wiltshire Mike Candey Mickey Angel

Let's be fair. Barnet are a good National League club. Stones are a strong NLS club. Big difference. It looks like George has a long way to go yet in producing a team that can live the NL ?
