The players under contract will be wanting away as well. Also Ebbsfleet surely be happy to release them if the right offer comes in. They have to reduce their wage bill right?I should think with more than a dozen not retained, they have!

Seems weird to me that the exact same players now moaning about not being offered new contracts, are the very ones, who were threatening to leave Ebbsfleet if not paid on time - a few days ago! Would have thought they would be happy not to be offered new contracts!

Yep we may be able to entice some bigger clubs to come here from higher leagues - like Dover, Bromley or Ebbsfleet maybe!

A local rival gets into trouble and we shouldn't be interested in it?? I noticed a stone on the path while I was leaving on Saturday - or at least I took it to be a stone. But now I realise it must have been a fragment of the main stand, as the club disintegrates. Haha either that or it was DaveU who had toppled out of his half filled glass! (or something that rhythms with it)

What I don't bloody understand is why we spend 15 pages discussing the supposed downfall of a rival Kent club, who have failed so badly by only managing to finish 8th in the league we have just finished bottom of! While our club disintegrates around us? Come on lads we play in amber and black not green!

At least it looks odds on that we will have a double fixture with Dartford on Boxing Day and New Years Day. So much better than playing Dover at the disgusting Crabble. .. and we can go there holding our heads high - as this season's proud winners of the wooden spoon!

Yep to me it seem's wrong to lump the Likes of Gateshead with the Fleet, although the outcome to creditors, supporters and players gives a similar feeling! Clubs like Gateshead are recruiting players, running up debts etc., knowing they haven't got the finances available to pay for them! To me that seems like fraud! Whereas, the likes of Ebbsfleet have the resources, but are slow paying! (Something all large British businesses are also guilty of!) The problem for the players is do I play for the likes of our club and be paid on time? or do I play for a Club like Fleet, earn twice as much, but are paid up to 6 day's late each month? To me that seems more like dis-honesty and dis-respect than fraud!

Embrey seems smarter than the average Stones player, both footballing and generally. He has the all important additions of skill and pace, so as he gets used to playing at higher levels, he will learn how to avoid the Neanderthals. He is actually capable of benefitting from the current long ball technique too, because pace will always worry defenders. Could well have scored yesterday, but for the B in the B. On the first occasion he had a run against the Neanderthal with the blue neck (their number two) he left him for dead and almost scored. I’d have given my right arm to have seen Fatboy palm the ball into his own goal, which almost did ! Oh yeah! that bastard N0. 2 was picked in Vanarama's National League Team this week! Don't know why? except no f*cker get's by him!

Didn't think we lacked effort today, but with their weakened side out and an important play off match for them coming Tuesday, I thought they cruised through the game really! They always seemed to be in second gear to me and happy for us to throw players forward and catch us on the break! They had done their homework on us I'm afraid, playing well within themselves, never pushed, just sitting back letting us play into their hands! We gave plenty of effort, little quality and a lot of huff and puff!

To me an even bigger worry in the way clubs at this level 'cheat the system' is by the way they use loan players! One or two loan players per season to cover for injuries etc is fine by me, but bringing in half the team on loan so you are not paying the going rate to players nor the full tax or NI is either cheating or the club is playing at a level it can't afford!
Unfair on both players and supporters in my opinion! Think there should be a rule for a minimum fully paid squad size, and a cap on loan players!

But whether we like to admit it or not, we are being bank rolled too! My point is how long will this continue if we continue our current slide? We already see the support beginning to fall! ... and I would think more than 80% of Clubs at this level are bank rolled to some degree anyway! Think we are kidding ourselves if we think it couldn't happen to us!

Always been these sort of problems in football and probably always will be! Indeed in all types of large and small businesses too! Just hope our downward spiral doesn't eventually draw us into a similar sort of position! At the moment though we seem ok and the rest aren't really our problem!

I could probably build a house given enough time and the correct materials! I’ve never done it before and the final result would be pretty crap! But it would look like a house! What you want is a bloke with 30+ years experience of building houses! You would also want that same bloke to come in and fix a house that has been built very badly, but this fix would take time! I guarantee that 99.9% of us have never managed a semi pro or fully pro football team so we should all just allow the bloke with 30+ years experience to do it!! He is currently using buckets to catch the rain dripping through the roof, but soon he will be levelling the place and building a new house for us all to enjoy! The way things are at the moment I'd be happy with a Bungalow!
