The Heed are not bothered by long away trips it seems, being third in the form table for their last six, behind only Notts and Wrexham. They stuffed us 4-1 up there of course in what was probably our rude awakening after a fairly decent start to the season. Indeed, looking back, the only months where we have won league games appear to be August and November, our last two being Wealdstone at home and Scunthorpe away. So, hard to expect anything while the eternal spring of hope seems to have run dry. There again, Gateshead lost 1-0 at Southend on Saturday and we showed good ambition on Tuesday. Unlikely to be many away fans inhabiting the Elvis End, though don't suppose there will be that many of our lot either. Who knows?
I have been to only 3 games this season and each being worse than the previous one. I have set up a gofund me page to stop me from going Saturday,if you reach the required target of £1000 I'll stay in bed.
I've just spoken to my Northeast Correspondent Wor Danny who informs me that the local press are more interested the exploits of Hebburn and Dunston both of whom have match previews whereas there is nothing as yet about the Heed. Have we fallen that low we cannot get a mention in the local Fell newspapers?

My eternal spring of hope hasn't dried up. It's my non-eternal spring of expectations I'm having trouble with.
So long as swordy stays away I think we have a chance. We are not yet in the position of having to win every match but a start this afternoon would help. Oddly enough I have a 'feeling in my waters'. 3 points beckon.

You'll be pleased to know I will not be in attendance, the gofundme total reached a staggering 50p which is enough for me to stay away.
No Booty today, but Sol starts, presumably playing as a winger with Jack and James up front. Not sure why the latter, but there you go. Wonder how we will play without Booty's long passes?
Could be three nil up, could be 3-0 down, especially if their shooting was as good as pre-match. Jack so unlucky following up a shot off the bar, then an own goal, then a couple of other chances and penalty shouts. However the officials are giving us sod all and it is feeling like another one of those days. Quite why Alabi is still on the pitch, I have no idea. He contributes nothing. We'd be better off having Mersin at centre forward. At least he is tall and strong enough.
