Just looked at highlights. Looked a good commanding performance. If I were Eastleigh, I'd be looking at the goalie on the first goal and the marking on the second. I'm also questioning the first booking, as it looks like the defender got a touch on the ball. Having said that we looked like we played some lovely passing football and there was much to be encouraged by.

Our home game against Bromley on March 11th will now have to be rearranged, let's hope for a home draw. I see the semi-finals are now just a one off game, presumably home team is luck of the draw. Prize money for winning the whole thing is about 100K, not to be sniffed at, let's hope it's our year, great result yesterday.

Much more likely they had very little worth sharing! However, what a delight they are and well done George and his team - no mention of himself, post match, just the team. Whisper it quietly, but are we actually doing things in training that are effective now? Two goals from corners is nosebleed territory and our shooting looked so much better yesterday. Dare to dream? Not by a long way, though one path to safety would be for all future teams to have a player sent off in the first half. Nevertheless, we were certainly the better team before that and had been before Hoyte's dismissal in the league game, so there are signs of progress. The last time we kept a clean sheet was 20/12 in the fat v Worthing. The last time we did that in the league was 19/11 v Oldham, also 12/11 v Scunthorpe and 1/11 v Solihull. And our next games are Oldham, Eastleigh, Gateshead and Solihull... Ok, one game at a time. O fortune, fortune! all men call thee fickle.

Who do we want? (Apart from Farsley at home!)
On current league place:
Gateshead 21 York City 18 FC Halifax Town 15 Altrincham 14 Aldershot Town 13 Barnet 4
On current form (6 games): FC Halifax Town 22 York City 21 Altrincham 15 Gateshead 8 Aldershot Town 6 Barnet 3
On home form: Aldershot Town 23 York City 20 Gateshead 19 FC Halifax Town 10 Altrincham 7 Barnet 3
On away form: York City 19 FC Halifax Town 18 Altrincham 14 Aldershot Town 8 Gateshead 5 Barnet 1
Overall - Halifax or York Home - York or Halifax Away - Aldershot, York or Gateshead
But we all know it's going to be Barnet...

What a great day out. OK - my biggest normal bugbear is the quality of accommodation for away fans and sure enough, we were herded into a crap area of the pitch and the tiny pie hut sold poor pies, bad coffee and not a lot else. One of the stewards offers to take me into the home end so I could get some chips - “we’re pretty relaxed here” - but we were stopped by another one - “can’t do it, mate”. That said - what a match. George and the team did a brilliant job - and clearly enjoyed themselves hugely doing it. God, that was good. Best game of the season by far. We were fairly quiet - no drum, and not once did we sing “ Every Saturday” - as a fan of songs that rhyme, that was fine with me. Next round at home, please, where we can deafen whoever is unfortunate enough to draw against us. COYS!!!!!

Don’t care who we get in the draw, but a home win would do a lot to lift the current malaise. Although we’ve been doing OK with away ties against the odds.

Highlights are up. First time I've looked forward to watching them in ages - and they don't disappoint! Four cracking goals. 14 minutes as well - just like the old days. Which leads me to think that the league highlights are much shorter (9 mins?) because of NL/BT reuirements. Or possibly because most of this season it's been hard to find more than 10 minutes worth showing.

For those of us there is was a delight to sit back and watch us play some great football.
Don't let the fact they had a player sent off fool you we were playing the ball about beautifully and were 0-2 up by then and deservedly so
Whitehall tried to bully Jobe who at 19 dealt with him superbly Jobe was my MOTM Lawson was everywhere took his goal well Bone led the back four and Fowler never puts in a less than 7.5 out of ten and it's so good on away day to see him smiling when he came over to fans, he was in near tears the past few weeks (The guy gives a shit) Barden is really growing on me made some good saves put his body on the line for the team in one of the saves Even Alabi showed he has a third speed (Slow and stop being the only two he's shown prior to today) Deacon looked happy and put in a great shift JBW was back to his twinkle toes best
It was so nice standing there watching us play really good football passing the ball and creating chances and as someone mentioned further up it was also nice hearing the songs about individual players being bellowed out rather than some of the dumbshit that gets sung (how shit must you be etc, hate those songs).
George and Ryan are getting the players confidence back and we need to get behind them as when the club works as one then we will continue to have performances that we are proud of and the players will continue to give us everything like they did at Eastleigh.

If George and his team can get them to play like that regularly, then he deserves a crack at the permanent job.

I don't often but watched the highlights and yes, some great football and 4 fantastic goals, just wowzer! I believe twinkle toes went over to Eastleigh fans after he scored his beauty because they had been calling him a fat bar steward... wonder how quick they shut up after that! Nice one JBW 👏
