Yeovil and Scunthorpe both lose today. There is hope yet.

Of course there is hope, look how poor we have been over the first half of the season and we are only a few points away. If we improve over the remainder. With Hak gone and new investment, we have every chance to get ourselves out of this yet.

There is always hope!
Actually, I've just realised why this awful season got to me so much more than previous bad seasons - it's the fact that, for so long, there didn't seem to be any hope.
But now we have a chance to dig ourselves out of this mess - it's a long shot, but I think we can do it. We need to see what impact George's management style has on the next two games first, and then how the players deal with the 'easier' games that follow.
Any sort of overnight miracle is unlikely, but hopefully we'll see enough to start to believe we can survive. Whatever - it's got to be better than the last few months!
There's an interesting historical parallel here - Jay's 'great escape' team rebuild in our first season in the NL started making a difference at about this stage in the season. So it's certainly not impossible (although we had the same problem with GD that season as well and would have ended up safely mid-table without that).
And, although that rebuilt side started to struggle again the following season when Piggot went, if you put the end of that first season together with the beginning of the second one, we were a bloody effective NL side for that time.
It can be done!

There is always hope but it is quite a hill to climb.
Tbh we've had a run of fixtures of only very average difficulty and achieved little.
Whats coming looks harder and worse still clubs above us have both points and games in hand.
So being realistic its all about hope rather than expectation.

And this time we probably have a better network of contacts for finding the right players - and possibly more money!

So we start by beating serial bottlers Wrexham next week. They don't like it up 'em.

Great to hear some positivity. Too much doom n gloom and moaning in life generally at the moment.
We are all guilty of having a frustrated gripe but positive thinking is always welcome..let's just hope the players have some too.
With Mr Motivator in temporary charge and positive Ryan Gordon around, we might have a chance.

If the silly mistakes at the back are cancelled, we've played OK in games I've been to

With Mr Motivator in temporary charge and positive Ryan Gordon around, we might have a chance. Just seen George's post match interview and in 5 minutes he made more sense than Hak in 5 months. If I were Mr Manchett I'd be giving this man an 18 month deal right here and right now. This man, as you rightly said Mr Motivator, could be the difference between going down or staying up and his self belief and belief in his players has already begun to shine through. I was critical of him as a player as I thought he had reached the end of the road, as it turned out so did he. There is a new road in front of him, a long and winding road he just needs a vehicle to traverse it. I for one hope that Maidstone United will be his first vehicle on the road to a glorious managerial future.

Steady on Swordy. One match at a time. No deadly, I know when things feel right and George at the helm feels perfect, does George want the job though?
