Disappointing news. Takes a brave person to buy a football club. If our current owners had done stricter due diligence, they wouldn’t have had to ban PBB. Maybe he just got cold feet.

Comments in the Facebook post are wild. Current owners sabotaged it, they wanted more money, they don't want us to progress, etc.
Absolutely no promise Manchett would have been the secret to our future possible successes. Let's calm down, watch a game of football tomorrow in our town centre ground and enjoy it.

Anyone who has experience with takeovers will know that there can be problems when one or both people play hardball. From the wording it would appear that the deal is not dead and that agreement has not been reached and both parties are taking time to reconsider. I doubt that due diligence is the problem as the owners have always been very open. I have no information but I wonder if it has anything to do with what happens after the purchase. For example did the owners want an exit strategy that would require their shares to be purchased over the next 5 years. It would be more difficult for the owners to find a buyer for their 49% as anyone making a substantial investment would also want control. Fingers crossed that a solution can be found in time for next season.

The biggest mistake was announcing it on social (bloody) media, nothing should have been said until it was a totally done deal. As Homer Simpson would say.... "d'oh!!!" 🙈🙈

Maybe a disagreement between how hard we try and avoid relegation and how much money we throw at it, knowing is it likely too late.
Who know. It’s probably an easier task to do this kind of deal at the end of a season when contracts are up, clean slate, new season etc etc

Yeah but with every man and his dog telling me Mr Manchett was buying the club, it was probably already on the public domain. Doesn't mean anything until its made official, hence the owners "confirming speculation" originally, now its gone boozums up (some) ppl are losing their shit about it saying the owners should "just" sell up and walk away, they're an absolute joke. Maybe they should walk away. It's modern day football fuckwittery, I did try to explain it to someone as follows: Say you bought a house for £1million back in 2012, you invested in the house and put more money in it now 10 years on you have spent £1.5Million on the house and are looking to sell The only offer is £750k so you will be looking at a £750k loss - WOULD YOU BE HAPPY with that?? NO so WHY should our owners as although the amounts will be different to the example some fans in essence are demanding that our owners take the huge loss.
