Genuinely surprised at the posts here - we put in a shift against a competent National League side, one who have played the least games but still sit just outside the play off places. We worked insanely hard and stayed in the game - a little bit of luck, one of those headers plods in, Jack finishes his one on one or if Pattison hits the keeper either side with his chance, different game. Don't quite get what people want in games like that - lads worked their arses off, we had huge spells with the ball, but just couldn't match a team with better resources and better players than us.
I'd rather watch a performance like that than against Oldham, where the ball is in the air for 80 minutes, we create nothing and still lose.

Can you explain why two of the players who were working their arses off more than most were substituted and some who were not working their arses off stayed on..

I agree here, subs were very confusing.

Sometimes the subs have done good but not this time. It happens. Too much fuss being made about losing by the odd goal imo.

Yea, if we didnt know better, its almost like some people rejoice in Stones losing, so they can get in with what they enjoy most

I'm all for keeping Hak though 5 straight defeats with no points over Xmas and new year would see him sacked at probably 95% of all other clubs. I don't think a new manager will change the fact that our players are just not good enough to do the job at this level, I only hope that if,not when,if we go down and Hak remains that he doesn't start thinking along the lines that we won promotion with the majority of this squad ,we can do it again with the same players.

Too many doomsters, too much pessimism and negativity. It happens in football you get good times and the other sort. Stones are def good enough to stay up. No guarantees but I honestly think that Stones will still be playing in the National League next season.

Oh dear, looks like I have to disagree with swordy again. Like lots of other supporters, we wanted Hak to keep most of the Championship winning team. Trouble was instead of retaining say 8 or 9 players, he retained around 16. Next problem was new recruits who were meant to strengthen the squad not weaken it. Lastly of course those accursed injuries, that are nobody's fault (although one post was trying to blame Hak for working the players too hard). Whether we stay up or get relegated, Hak will have learnt more about the players and I hope at least 8/9 will be in the squad for next season.

Ok, having seen the highlights he wasn't behind Barden, but he definitely looked offside, although somewhat closer than I originally thought. I think the reason the linesman didn't give it was because he didn't see the touch, although given Walker was right in front of Barden he would definitely have influenced play regardless of the touch.

But Hak, Terry and the team have paid up contacts until the end of the season. Where is the money coming from for a new management and new players ? Its not going to happen. Just saying. People keep saying this, yet seem to forget the season we had 4 managers, used 60 players and still made a profit that year. So no, I don't buy the excuse that we can't afford to sack the manager.
