Why would we? We’ve won 5, drawn 2 lost 2. That’s a good start,
Jay had his time, and it was good.

Not doing much at Margate at present time. Playing in Ishmian League and outside of play offs. Wouldn't want to swop our teams.

What a scoop if you could drag Daryl away from Dagenham

You're a very naughty poster Sir - I'll report you to Francoise Just wanted to wind the wannebe / newby Athletic Ground Peasants up Porky ? Still the best Stones manager through and through - has anyone else managed to better his record and get together a team that actually play for Maidstone ? Biggest mistake Terry , Oliver and Bill have made in my opinion but I respect them all totally for what they have done for the club. Very disappointed that Sharpy hasn't bothered an input - too busy working or watching Herne Bay I guess ? COYS

Their biggest mistake, In my opinion, was to employ Harry Wheeler.
I was a big fan of Jay, was “Jay in” all the way.

Not sure parting company with Jay was a mistake. After saying they wanted an experienced manager who know the level, not sticking to that was the mistake.

Or running a part time squad in a full time league.
It was great for the balance sheet, but was always going to end in being caught out.
Tough life being an owner; ultimately everything is your fault.

Not sure parting company with Jay was a mistake. After saying they wanted an experienced manager who know the level, not sticking to that was the mistake. Exactly. The pining for Jay is all about the disaster that followed. Very few managers would have been given longer as we’d been poor for a long time. Jay has done nothing at Margate to back the reputation he built in his first few years with us, but this will keep coming up, every time we have a run of poor games, just like a bad smell you can’t quite get rid of. When the going is good this is a question nobody asks. The next time our keeper drops a clanger, the ‘bring back Worgan’ brigade will emerge from the woodwork yet again. And so it goes around, in a rather boring and distinctly unhelpful way.
