I wasn't able to buy one last season, so will commit some money this time round.

This is the first I've heard of this, has any previous ST holder received an email about renewal at all?

Had an email about 11:30 this morning regarding renewal and tickets for the ‘meet the team’ open training session on 3 July

Five quid on top as you can't go down the ground and renew in person.
Why is it that I'm happy to give the club the cost of a ST without knowing if I'll get to see all the games (for the third season runing!), but I'm miffed at being charged an exra fiver for "postage and processing"?!

Seems a bit odd as I've never been charged P&P before despite being all the way up here - perhaps the income generation strategy has gone up a gear or two. Still nothing in my inbox, but no rush as there's a decent renewal period to get sorted in but good job I logged in here today!

Thinking about my fellow Main Standers, I think most of them will have had their 2nd jabs before the season begins, so if we are still in the grip of a third wave, and the club brings in some sort of '2nd jab' policy, it shouldn't affect us too much!

The figures you need to be looking at are hospital admissions and death rate, both of which are pretty stable. The other thing to note is that those in hospital are virtually all people who haven't been vaccinated, or in a few cases have had only one jab.

I phoned the club yesterday to ask about main stand renewals and they confirmed that the business model assumes full capacity and no social distancing for next season.
I cannot see that happening anytime soon...

I cannot see that happening anytime soon... Why not? Decent outcomes from test events, and even going back to last summer, mass events outdoors didn't cause an increase in infection rates. Plus with the vast majority vaccinated by the start of the season there's no reason why football can't go ahead with unrestricted crowds.

Wembley will be 60,000+ for the Euro finals, with 2,000 UEFA hangers on flying in for the event.
Little old Maidstone United will be fine with the usual 1,600 in a stadium with a capacity for 4,200.
