Affiliations of the people signing the mad Parmenter letter:
Anthony Kleanthous - Barnet Jim Parmenter - Dover Mike Coulson - Blyth Spartans Richard Parsons - H&R? Shahid Azeem - Aldershot
But I can't find out who Stephen Thompson and Timothy Murphy represent. Anyone know?

Incidentally, re Parmenter - I have always* been deeply suspicious of men who have gone grey, but who still retain a full head of hair. It just isn't natural.
(*well, for the last 10 years, at least...)

Wonder what actual fans of Dover think? Their club has a complete nutter for a chairman and they are currently wasting a shitload of money, judging by team performances. Bit like Billericay, I guess, though let's hope with the latter we can really turn them over on Saturday. Football fans' mentality is a strange one, because many will choose to ignore any amount of malpractice, so long as their team are winning. Thank goodness we have decent people at Maidstone.

At Leeds there was practically open warfare between the vast majority of supporters when Ken Bates and Cellino were in charge. Bates went to the extent of setting up his own radio and internet TV channel to berate sections of the support including tipping of a national newspaper journalist to dig dirt on key members of the anti-Bates movement. Improvements to Elland Rd were carried out that went past their deadline for completion causing problems with the capacity and access into a new season, but the company weren't fined. By coincidence the same company were building an extension on the house of the then Chief Exec - rumoured to be free or mates rates having secured the Elland Rd contract. Leeds fans have been screwed over by incompetence or naked asset stripping by just about every owner since Peter Ridsdale at the turn of the millennium and as such every owner is subject to huge scrutiny. Even with the current ownership and things going so well, everything the exec team does is under the microscope.

Bates also got on very well with Jim Thompson. Cut from the same cloth. I have both Chelsea and Leeds supporting friends (I'm not quite sure how this happened, but I guess we all have crosses we have to carry...), so I'm fairly familiar with Bates, his behaviour, and the fans' opinions of him, and I have to say that, although JT was no angel, I'd rather have him any day!
