My most cherished memory of Paul Foley was in London on the day of a Kent senior cup game we were playing at Sittingbourne, could have been a league cup tie cant remember. Anyway I decided not to attend and meet friends in London and as I was walking up the Charing X road I heard " oy you fat fucker, you're going the wrong way ". I looked around and saw nobody then all of a sudden hurtling across the road avoiding buses and taxis came the mad dog Foley. This was about 3pm and he stopped and asked me "where the f**k you going?" Iexplained that i was meeting friends and he replied "oh no! If i have to turn up at that shithole and run around for 90 minutes the least you can do is come an watch me". He then began trying to frog march me to the station or so thought but instead he dragged me into the Garrick arms where he bought us some pints. An hour and 4 pints later he said he had to go he didnt want to be late. He then played 90 minutes whilst half pissed. Later in his career when he was at Chatham i was in their social club when the then chairman ordered me to move from his table so that he and his friends could sit there. I kicked up a fuss and Foley came over. I explained the situation and he turned to his chairman and said" if you move that man i will resign with immediate effect". Needless to say i remained seated. RIP Paul(mad dog) Foley, a true gentleman,a true legend.

Sad news, even in these times. Thoughts are with his loved ones and friends. One of our heroic players. The club should, when possible, pay some kind of tribute.

How sad. I watched Paul on many occasions. You could never ever fault his commitment to the cause, which could sometimes 'boil over' with the other side. Always entertaining to watch and you loved the fact he was always so up for winning.
RIP Paul and condolences to his family
