Another reason for fans staying away is the cost of watching Maidstone is now dearer than watching clubs in the football leagues. Clubs do a variety of deals to reduce admission an increase the gates, meanwhile Madistone do nothing they cannot rest on there laurels expecting fans to continue to support them, it,s ok for 10 or 20% of the fan base who will support them whatever, but new supporters need to be encouraged through the turnstiles or the club will struggle. Every club needs to find ways of attracting new fans an we are not doing that on the pitch so other options need to be looked at.

No, I'm saying that if you think success is a god given right then a top 6 club in the premier league is probably the place for you. Clearly this was aimed at the glory hunting moron who didn't acknowledge the existence of the club before 2012 and who said he was giving up his season ticket, not a sweeping generalisation of all new supporters. But that's OK, you just carry on interpreting posts any way you want just to try and start an argument. Most of the glory hunters have already buggered off. I saw one lad in Maidstone the other day who used to watch us, used to use away coaches and now he wanders around town in his Arsenal shirt. Another victim of the clowns reign. Or, as he wears an Arsenal shit, he's gone off football completely?

Strangely angry post from daveu, slating those supporters whose enthusiasm is on the decline. It is a fact, the club has lost hundreds of supporters and the decline in numbers will continue without an improvement in performances and results. After a disaster of a season last year we now seem to be experiencing a disappointing season and getting worse. More to the point, season ticket sales have already taken a big hit and judging from the murmerings I hear, more will follow. Performances by the team are just not good enough and apathy seems to have spread to most parts of the Gallagher. I'm pretty sure daveu is in the group of best and loyal 10% of supporters but what about the other 90% ? It is this group whose numbers following Stones are on the decline. The trend can only reduce revenues further which means the wages budget for players will head south again. Anger you may feel daveu and you are entitled to condemn the stay away supporters. It may make you feel better but who else does it help ? Indeed, Nick. As I have said before on another post we really need a new "brand", a new "buzz" and new personality for the club which the Clown destroyed. My BBJ name wasn't necessarily chosen to bring back the man himself (although..... )…..but certainly that buzz and character of the 3 in 4 Maidstone United we had under Jay has been lost, and we need to find a new identity that attracts that young man in the Arsenal shirt, and others, back to games. Of course that is dependant upon performances on the pitch, but its actually much more than that. Maybe we need a brand marketing company in!

Yep it's those fans that complain about paying £15 to get in that are the ones who shout loudest about the club not spending enough on players. It's the chicken and egg argument all over - if people don't buy a season ticket and attendances drop our playing budget will also drop meaning we are less attractive to players. So in essence these stay away fans are part of the problem.

Most non-league clubs would not regard having an average gate of 1800 as being a problem, more likely to think it would be a miracle!!

Another reason for fans staying away is the cost of watching Maidstone is now dearer than watching clubs in the football leagues. I am missing the Welling match to achieve a lifelong ambition of watching Wolves play at Molineux (versus Brighton), though a friend who is a member there had to buy my ticket for me. It surprised me to find that the cost of a seat in the Steve Bull stand is only £19.50. Makes you wonder whether we should up sticks and move to the north!

Are you advocating newer supporters don't turn up to watch Maidstone? Your standards towards said supporters seem to have changed from getting very upset by the word 'droves' No, I'm saying that if you think success is a god given right then a top 6 club in the premier league is probably the place for you. To be fair, some of our supporters are bigger cunts than their number seven. A classic from the FB group, "I've been a season ticket holder since we started but I won't be renewing next year", "when we started" clearly meaning 2012. Well then, don't renew you glory hunting scum, f**k off back to watching which ever over funded premier league shit you "support" from your arm chair. Proper supporters take the rough with the smooth and don't give up their season ticket just because the club has a bad spell. You clearly mention (unts in this paragraph where you mention about the season ticket being given up. We’ll see who the (unt is.

Well if you want to take just that phrase on its own out of context, and completely ignoring the qualifying clause that's up to you. But if you read the whole sentence it clearly refers to someone who thought we started in 2012. But if you want to see insults where there are none, then fill your boots.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, with all the tv money etc then premier league teams can play in front of empty stadiums and not lose out. There is a reason why they can afford to charge the fans so little, although some still try and rip fans off.
