Just a quick update on Boxing day pubs. The Beer Seller will be open as will the Chequers but the nearest pub to the ground the Royal Oak is definitely NOT opening. My advice would be to drink at the ground as it's a fair walk up from the town. Any pubs open in the evening in Tonbridge so I can grab something to eat and drink late into the night after the match

Most of the town centre pubs are open but some are shutting around 2100hrs.

Disturbing news reaching me that the stones are not only being segregated but with no access to any of the bars at the ground. If true then this could put a number of fans off going to the match and could also be akin to financial suicide on behalf of the Tonbridge hierarchy.

Disappointing if true, for what should really be one of our biggest turn outs is looking like a damp squib, coupled with the lack of trains, busses and poor take up on the supporters coach.

There are 3 or 4 other games kicking off at 1pm in the NLS. There is the spoons in the town centre which looks like the safe option to start on Boxing Day. I doubt many pubs around the ground would open prior to 12. That marquee behind the goal wasn’t to bad it will be big enough for the support we’re take there, don’t know about how much staff will be on the pumps but sure will be ok to cope.
I know they cancelled the supporters coach apparently which is pretty embarrassing but do you need a coach for a 15-20 minute journey? I reckon we’re have a decent turnout regardless.
If we get a bad result on Boxing Day probably followed by Dulwich I think many more will be asking questions of the management.

If busses and trains were working there would be no need for a coach, but for those of us not driving on the day its going to be the difference between going or not. I did a quote for a taxi and lets just say it would be cheaper on any other day to get a return flight abroad so I'll probably have to give it a miss.
Having seen the numbers we took for other local derbies in recent seasons (IE 500+) I think the away support will be a fair bit less.

Some really exciting news on KM Online that is bound to give everybody a lift 'Maidstone finished with 10 men after Luke Pennell was shown a second yellow card following a clash with Dorking match-winner Jason Prior. Pennell is free to play at Tonbridge on Boxing Day, with his ban kicking in against Dulwich on December 28'.

As someone who always drives all or part of the way to Maidstone games, so have never had more than a pint before or during a match, I have to ask - does alcohol consumption ease the pain?
Might it be an idea if people who give their in-depth match analyses on here tell us how many pints they had, so that we can decide how seriously to take their posts? (JDL - don't worry - needn't apply to you...)

I must admit to having taken advantage of our relegation and enjoying a pint leaning against the railings at some of our home matches this season, last Saturday included. Whether that 'helped' me think that Pennell was very unlucky to get booked the second time I'll leave for others to decide

Tbf i thought he was lucky to get booked, it spared him and us the pain of him playing 90 minutes.

I know we are segregated but does anyone know if we have any seating allocated to us, I've still got a f'd up leg and supposed to be resting it so not sure if i can get away with standing the whole game but if we have access to some seating I'd try and get over there.
