What was the gate yesterday? The report on the OS doesn't give it.

I do get the thing about winning is the only thing that matters in the cup. But from my circle of regular Stones supporters, nobody actually 'enjoyed' the match. Does that matter ? For the die-hards probably not, but there's another 1000+ people who want some entertainment too. Playing well below par and still winning just about worked for us yesterday, but only just. Performing anything like that in NLS and the next round won't deliver the positive results we all want. Our attacking players were well and truly shackled in the second half, but the service was poor. But while it looked like we were missing Sam Corne, our midfield def needs strengthening. Just too lightweight, not enough creativity, didnt close down players and not much cutting edge on the flanks either. Not sure that the Ks have the quality needed. Pretty sure John Still will be proactive before too long.

Who isn’t the lowest league team left?

Is it too much to ask for a home draw against lower league opposition again ? Probably as the cream rises to the top, there are not so many comfortable looking ties. But a home match v Margate would be rather nice. Are you sure? They are playing well at the moment, we aren't.

Jesus, a sub-par performance in a game we still won and the panic button is well and truly pressed. It's the cup, it happens. The other stones only drew against a team in a very similar position to Hitchin. I suspect Hitchin played well above their normal standard, we were a bit below. There really is no need for all the negativity.

Next round for me would be home draw against lowest ranked club possible. On the other hand, some nice / rare away grounds we might not otherwise get the chance to visit - Royston would be good, or Haringey, or Kings Langley ? Sorry I was thinking of financial gain for the club, not arranging a tour of non league clubs.

I'm thinking a nice Carshalton at home to help stabelise the nerves.
