Also it's a very early start for a 3 pm kick off. Could you organise a second coach leaving later, Tim, for those of us who don't want to spend time in the pub before a match? If you ever drove outside Kent, I might take that seriously. Plus who can remember the coach that the club organised to Harrow that left at 12, and got there at 2.55pm? I think iMUSC took over departure times after that! Dear Mr Headstone ,there are other things you can do than go pubbing just go and explore it's amazing what you can find in new places.

As some one who frequently make the journey in the opposite direction I would say the time Tim has arranged is quite sensible. You would soon start crying if you missed kick off due to for any reason and believe me this side of London we do not need a reason to bring the M25 to a stand still. No one is forcing you to consume alcohol, get a cup of tea or coffee and read the program or the paper or have a look round. enjoy the day out ABSOFUCKINGLUTETLY!!!

It certainly paid to leave early that day!

My record for Wealdstone away is setting off in "reasonable time" for a 3pm kick-off, took notice of alleged traffic problems on M25, decided to come off motorway in Surrey and cut that corner. Got in to ground at 4.35. We lost.
Journey back was significantly better and I didn't get charged admission.
Lesson, for me, from that journey. There is no "right time" to set off as the M25 will do what it wants when it wants.

I went to Ramsgate once without any directions (yeah, I know...). Spent thirty minutes driving round the ground in a big circle, and got there ten minutes late. As soon as Elvis saw us he told us to f*** off, because we were going to lose now (he had a semi-justifiable thought that we were bad luck). We were 0-0 at the time. Within a further fifteen minutes were were down to ten men and 2-0 down.
He glared at us for the rest of the match.

When I found out that Elvis had died I felt guilty that I hadn't got to know him better, but this has just reminded me why I tended to avoid him!

We lost that day too A few years ago was going to Guildford for an ice hockey game, left 2.5 hours before it started, took two hours to get to the Eastbourne junction on the m25 ended up coming off there turning round and coming home, other times I've got to Guildford in 40 minutes, m25 is just so unpredictable.

I used to work with a Chelsea fan who also followed Gills (a colleague, not a friend!), who once went to a game at the Bridge, only to discover it was off (this was back in the 80s). Gills had a later KO, so he drove back to Priestfield, only to discover that that game was off too. In desperation, he then drove to Southend, hoping he could still catch most of their game - only to get stuck in traffic at the tunnel and to finally get there just after 5 (that game had been on!).
I was going to say this must be some sort of record, but, knowing the lengths some fans go to, it probably isn't...

Back in the 80's, New Year's Day, we tried to get into Bolton v Sunderland (Div 2, I think), but it was full, so we ended up at Rochdale 0 - 1 Preston NE. We'd have done better to go home...

Thanks to everyone who travelled by coach yesterday we actually managed to turn in a small profit! Plus 19 new/ rejoining members Our coach driver played a blinder by taking us north round the M25 beating the players coach and that left 35mins before Thanks to everybody doing what I ask and arrive 15/20mins early which enabled us to leave bit earlier (every little helps as Tesco tell us) Special thanks to André who did the scratch card for me, I can say he is a much nicer person than sometimes he portrays on here! 😉
