Sounded better than that on SL. But I'll settle for a point and a clean sheet. And 1700+ on an August Tuesday evening is OK. Onwards and upwards. Agree, good crowd again. Big plus.

Why is it that the moaners are so keen to post their negative stuff straight after a match. Same old faces. Be a nice change if they gave the rest of us a break. It's still very early days and the new look team is obviously work in progress. Slowly coming together, the team will continue to get better. Defence is already good, midfield and attack needs plenty of tuning and improvement. Keep the faith. I haven t posted for about a year. Lol

First 10 minutes we looked good passing the ball and getting in good positions but from that point we then decided to hoof it every time. Crowd went quiet and everyone looked so bored. Defence was good. Midfield was very poor and couldn’t control the ball or dictate the game. Gave no chances to our front three. Don’t even think we tested the keeper once? We need Justin back ASAP as he is our goal scorer. JS should of changed formation when it wasn’t working and go 442 as their full backs were not that great. Change it if not working and get 2 strikers in the box. Our success moving up the leagues was going 442. I hate only having 1 striker as it’s easy for defenders in this league to defend against.

I wasn't there, so can't really have an opinion, but it does feel that people are still expecting too much too soon.
This is a brand new team, still settling in, not a play-off hopeful side, hitting the ground running. Losing the first two, a decent away win, and then a home draw and a clean sheet strikes me as a pretty good start under the circumstances. Certainly better than I was expecting.

Clovis Kemjo totally bereft of ideas , constantly being passed by !! Their keeper had only one save to make all game , when he stuck his arm out as a reflex save

Suspect Eastbourne will be happier with the point than us. Our defence looks fine and especially like Elokobi and Johnson in central defence. Captain George is clearly a real character, so long may he prosper. Cole is the keeper we were crying out for last season, but apart from that, as others have said, we lack creativity. Indeed, had Amaluzor been fit, suspect we would have won easily and when Embury is fit as well, they could make a real difference. Set pieces still a weakness and would include throw ins too. We must have wasted 5-10 minutes on throw ins, mainly because there was so little movement for the player with the ball to throw to. Midfield and attack mostly worked hard and overall there were few glaring errors like we saw every game last season, but while we look fairly safe, there is no flair in the side, so can only hope Amaluzor and Embury are back soon. Spent a bit of time near the Eastbourne bench and have to say both manager and coach spent the whole time moaning at the ref - except when decisions went their way. A rather unpleasant pair, all in all.

That was poor we had all the attacking prowess of a eunuch, we looked defensively stronger but as other have alluded to it’s going to be a long hard season, thankfully I won’t be see many home games and will stick with the away fixtures

4 pts from 2 games, and a clean sheet, set pieces need to be better, corners were not good, thought defence did well, and nana caused them problems in the 2nd half, just lacking that craft and goal scoring opportunities, hopefully they can work on it, and when a few players a fit again improve

New team or not is it really that much to ask their keeper to make a save? From memory I cannot think of a single save he had to make. Literally spent the whole game taking goal kicks. So so poor in the creativity department.

Always interesting to see how former players shape up against us when returning wearing an opposing shirt. Eastbourne had two former Stones Strikers, Romain & Luer. Of the two, Romain I thought had a really quiet game, not really involved, no spark, nothing at all. Luer, on the other hand looked a revelation, full of pace and running. Can understand why he was so highly thought of at Woking in 2018 / 19 , after having a shit loan spell with MUFC at the end of 2017 / 18.

None of us expected it to be easy , but on what I have seen so far , including the friendlies , we have a long way to be a well oiled machine and we won't trouble too many sides this year !!. The balance of the team is far from what the management has given us to believe and as another forum contributor has said , we bought players that were cheap and most of them from leagues below ours !!

Yes Frenchie, you are so right. It should have been obvious to John Still from the outset. Our summer recruitment targets needed to be very expensive and exclusively from higher leagues. Simple when you think about it.
