It's worse than you think - JWW is only half a mile from my house. I hang my head in shame. In your defence (kind of...) we all make our choices. I used to go to every home game at Sittingbourne with an almost religious enthusiasm. I've been to JWW about 10 times since we moved in. People, and their priorities, change. I don't really need a defence, ta. Lived in Romford, so it was West Ham. Moved to Maidstone, so my first team became Maidstone. But once a Hammer, always a Hammer (and ditto a Stone), even though I haven't seen them play since they left UP and I've seen far more Stones games. That's just how it is. Unless you'r a Manc or Chelsea, you don't choose your team.

West Ham? As in top half of the PL? That West Ham? Yes that West Ham that were gifted a 60,000 seat stadium for a peppercorn rent at the taxpayers expense.

Ross Warner signs for Havant. That's a good one that got missed. Reunited with Paul Doswell Fear this is going to be the start of a pattern over the summer we surely need to attract 4 or 5 players of this quality to prosper in NLS but i think the budget restraints imposed by the owners will make it difficult Wonder if Mitch Walker is still available ? He would make a pretty good signing imo. Chances are he could be on John Still's list of 'possibles'

By the time I started to go to games regularly they'd been well and truly shafted. A local businessman (owned the biggest estate agents chain in the area) bought the club, with all sorts of promises to improve it and get promoted to the Football League - and then built houses on the site. A great pity, even by the standards of those things, as Romford had a huge old-school ground and the biggest stand I've ever seen in non-league, and were generally regarded as a club that should have been in the FL.

He's probably a 1st or 2nd choice at least...............but will he want to join us? We will see.

Of course he would like to join us after finally escaping from that awful club close to Folkestone. No question as to his status at MUFC, Mitch would be our first choice keeper. Hopefully John Still is thinking upon the same lines.

Hopefully John Still is thinking upon the same lines. Lol - I meant I wonder if he is JS2 and HH's first choice to be our no1 keeper or a second choice after another option (Referring back to the HH interviews quip about 3rd, 4th and 5th choice new players).
No guarantees Mitch would like it here at JWW, and he may have negatives from Worgs, Lewis and Reason, so whilst we think he should be honoured to escape Crabble for us, he may not think that way!
Lets see.

People who support a football team don't care which division it plays in. They'll shout their support at the players rather than be an anonymous face in the biggest crowd they can find.

Believe it or not I know much about Romford fc but I was just testing you. I spent a lot of time in Romford swimming in my teenage years. I read the Wikipedia entry after I posted that - nothing like I remember it! It was a big local scandal at the time - perhaps the first time that sort of thing happened? Very sad to walk round the housing estate where the ground used to be. No sign of the ground at all, although you can just about see the shape of it if you look at the satelite view on Google. I don't feel any identity with the current Romford FC - they did a D&R, by taking over Colier Row and taking their league place. But, worse than D&R, they then lost the 'Collier Row' part of the club's name. And they play at East Thurrock's ground, miles from Romford. There used to be Speedway at Romford too, but that also went when Brooklands was demolished. Although, strangely, I remember it still going later than that - you could hear it all over town! Football, speedway, dogs... it was another time altogether.

Best thing is they saved all that money and still finished well below spurs who actually paid for their own stadium, the only time you hear from the hammers is when they play spurs as it's their cup final and game they get up for each season. Even took loads of west ham fans missing their last home game of the season so that they could go to Wembley last week to see their women's team in the women's fa cup final to see if west ham could win something as let's fave it they ain't won anything since what the fa cup in 1980???
