The best possible result next season would be to lose the play-off final at Wembley! What an utterly ridiculous thing to say. For one thing, the final would be at the ground of the highest placed finalist, and secondly, losing any game is a bad result. Football fans should have no truck with realistic expectations, but should always aim for the stars. There are plenty of teams surviving in the national league without massive budgets. Where do you think clubs like Maidenhead and Dover stand budget wise? Probably not a lot different to us. If your expectations are lower fair enough but don't use the clubs funding as an excuse for them.

We do seem to missing more possible new signings than we are hitting..........its been over a week now since the last new signing, and even if we are, as others seem to suggest, going to get the bulk of the squad signed up in June or July nearer to season start it would be good to see at least a drip feed of one a week joining the ranks!
I know, I know, patience, trust JS2, most signings are made after holidays and protracted negotiations etc etc but we are rebuilding a whole squad not just topping an existing one up, so it would be good to see one or two still arriving sooner rather than later.

The other thing you have to understand is the pure greed of footballers these days. We are a big name team with a good fan base which undoubtedly means that the players or their agents will be trying it on to get as ridiculous amount of money as they can for themselves. We as a club and JS2 should not be held to ransom by players with an over inflated opinion of themselves.

You know patience is required, we all know patience is required, so no point in worrying yet. Non targets like Chinny-Mckenzie and a couple of others signed by other clubs are almost certainly not on John's wanted list. You can be sure that our management team are working full time to put a decent squad together and there is no reason to have doubts.
Whether we hear of newly signed players on a slow drip feed or sudden flow scarcely matters, it is the quality of the end product that counts. I have heard that there are players signed up with current clubs until the end of the month, that has probably delayed at least a couple of announcements.
Patience, if we havn't signed another 5/6 players by the end of the next 2 weeks, then maybe that is the time to get a little anxious.

Kind of links to my other thread about "full time" players which we have elected to continue to work with in NLS, as opposed to semi-pros.
Maybe I'm still living in that semipro world in expecting to see more signings a bit sooner!

I guess I should also learn from the fact that not many of our non-retained squad have found other places to go yet either, apart from Josh and Elliot, probably for all the same reasons as why we haven't signed many players just yet. I'll try to shut up now

We must have a lot of offers out there. I am sure players are making their mind up but the more players that sign in, the more attractive we will look.
I think the trickle will become a stream and then a tsunami of signings soon enough.

More like a permanent state of panic You are confusing panic with passion Sennockian - the very thing we long to see in our players and should have as true supporters. Passion always has a degree of impatience within it, but not panic.
I'm not panicking, I am just keen as mustard to see us get good players in, and looking out for the next announcement, especially when the Havants are getting players in at a fast rate.
I also understand all the well presented reasons why it may not be happening for us as quickly as I would like, and it is interesting to hear them on these threads. That's what the forum is about.

Havant are getting players because of the manager link with sutton they have only got players from them and in my opinion will win the league if we are not careful

Looking forward to the challenge of us playing them! COYS

I demand the managers sign unsuitable players not on their shortlist in order to appease impatient forum posters who haven't seen a signing for entire days. The new season is just months away.
