I'm always a bit wary of the "yeah, but they were shite" 'explanation' for us playing better.
Lest we forget - this was this team that stuffed us 5-2 back in November and ended the brief revival we'd had before Harry went completely bonkers. Also, they just happen to be two places and 6 points above us (not to mention having half our negative goal difference), and have a far more realistic chance of getting above Dover and escaping relegation than we do.
So, 'shite' yes, but nowhere near as shite as us, and yet we beat them easily today - and with some style.
Credit where credit is due.

Out of interest where is Shamir these days? [Oops] My short term memory loss [/Oops] - He got a (temporary) EFL berth with the Macc - but I don't think has played yet. Correct, has been an unused sub for Macc for two recent Saturdays ( 9th March & 2nd Feb ) - that's all.

Was expecting a bit more form Havant to be honest they seemed to have some nippy players when we played at there place but must've been where we only had ten men after Bradbury shithoused it so romain got sent off, anyone else notice he tried to do it again today to one of our players, the fuckin has been. Not sure that I noticed that incident specifically, but having been near their dugout for the second half I did note that he seems to be an objectionable (err) individual , whereas Shaun Gale seems to try to smooth the waters somewhat.

the maidstone united football team turned up today. fantastic performance forgot to put embury mom for me, stood out above all others The goal scorers are easily heading the OS MotM poll at the moment, which I suppose is understandable. But it does mean that other players who had an excellent game don't get the recognition they deserve. For me, at least in the first half, Wishart was my MotM - but only one other bugger agrees with me!

Interesting (or not) to compare the players used for our first and second home wins this season:
Just four players appeared in both: with Will De Havilland, Ollie Muldoon and Blair Turgott starting back in August, and Michael Phillips coming on for Jack Paxman on 74 minutes.
And, comparing the two H&W games:
Although only just over 3 months separate the two fixtures, only six players featured in both: with Will De Havilland, Jack Powell, Blair Turgott and Elliot Romain starting in the November game, Ollie Muldoon coming on for Jack Powell on 65 minutes, and Michael Phillips as an unused sub.

It was in the first half the ball went out donnellon went to get it and it's at Bradbury's feet and he purposely starts to mess around with the ball keeping it away form donnellen to prevent the quick throw donellen grabs him and Bradbury tries to engage him to get the ref and get donellen booked, first class piece of shit behaviour from a manager Imo.

But for me the really difference is Davies sitting in front of the back 4.Breaks up play and just protects the defence. He has played there twice now and probably 2 of the best team performances this year. It was no coincidence that when he tired on 80 mins v Halifax that there chances came. Also Embery being mobile and not just a target man (big difference). Great team performance lets keep rolling COYS

Having been to Solihull last week this really was like watching a different team! I can’t really add much to what’s been said. They all worked really hard and AS A TEAM. Embury was great to watch, Romain worked tirelessly, thought Wishart and Swain did a great job at the back. Davies went down right in front of me and looked in a terrific amount of pain-I hope he’s ok, anyone know the prognosis? My only tiny negative would be that Lewington’s kicking really needs some work. Apart from that a great afternoon! Pretty sure we won’t survive but at least performances like this will give us confidence for next season.

In the post match interview, HH says Embrey himself asked to come off as he was feeling the pace. That says a lot, in particular his unselfish nature as a player. Wishart was superb in the first half and my MoM. Powell did good things, but we are still looking for a decent dead ball player. Free kicks and corner deliveries especially. Early days still. One negative for me was with Richards on the bench, why wasn't he used? The home grown talent that JS1 seems to like and for me would have been a better replacement for Embrey than Taylor, or indeed Muldoon for that matter. Two decent away performances required now (not expecting a win, but a point or two would be nice) and then we might just see a decent home crowd for the Fleet game, which should have the potential to get close to 3000, you'd think.

I saw Davies in the Spitfire lounge afterwards and he was on crutches but also seemed to be smiling and joking with the fans so hopefully not too long out.

Great team performance yesterday an a nice surprise to get a win, just a damn shame they could not manage it through out the season a little bit more often. But at least it gives us a glimmer of hope for next season.
