I’m going to confess I’ve had to look up names of the squad to complete this line up, but this is what I’d go for. Henry Meredith (wing back) WDH Davies Donnellan Wishart (wing back) Walton Powell Phillips Cassidy Robinson. Subs: Romaine Paxman Edobor Richards Tajbakhsh A battling 2-1, 2619 turning up the attendance may be abit off but everything else spot on (hopefully) With Meredith and Davies in the team we should be able to conduct ourselves in the proper manner. High brow joke just to show that there are times when I can be intelligent though they are very few and far between.

Personally, I reached peak Widdecombe a long time ago. But, back OT - I had just about sorted out who was who in our squad, but I am now back to where I was weeks ago! Yet another game of trying to match the team list on my phone with the names I can barely see on the backs of shirts! Still, it keeps those who sit around us amused... Go to the club shop and grab a teamsheet, has that days line-up and their shirt numbers, in much bigger text than your phone I have done that several times! Not always many available though. Just updated my 'Squad?' post. Squad looks much better now - 22 players, plus two out on loan. And all loans are until the end of the season. No idea how long players are contracted for though (most to end of season, I assume - any longer?), nor any real idea of who is cup-tied (and for which cup).

Like I said, lovely weather. Hope the pitch doesn't have as many puddles as my back garden. What time is the inspection?

According to Transfermarkt, nobody has a contract beyond the end of June this year. However, the site also suggests Simon Walton has a 'market value' of 300,000 euros and Blair Turgott 225,000, so maybe a degree of scepticism required as to its accuracy... Alternatively, perhaps that is the total of all fees paid over their careers? Still seems far fetched though.

0-1, though no idea how or why. Fylde workman like and confident on the ball. We aren't.

Fylde deserve to win this. No matter what our squad we are shite.
Draw and I streak.

Without trying to sound like a broken record the midfield once again missing. 5 managers this year and none have sought to strengthen our midfield. They do nothing.
Fylde control the game through midfield. Passing, moving, pressing, tackling and creating.

Every home game is a competition to serve up the worst 45 minutes of football so far and this is one of them. We have now found a keeper who cannot keep a goal kick on the pitch. At least eight have gone straight out, while going forwards you'd think we have gone back to the Wheeler school of aimless long balls to no one in particular. As for the defence - wetting themselves every time Fylde run at them. Can only hope we improve.

Please don't moan at Henry who was easily MoM. At least 3 great saves, good catching and kept us in the match. Outplayed and outfought in midfield but we hung on. Not sure we deserved a point but we have lost in the past when we should have got something out of a game. Work in progress. Plenty for JS to think about.

I await the match report with interest.
Think I'll steer clear of the highlights though.

He's clearly a brilliant shot stopper as he made some incredible saves that I feel would of gone in with other keepers we have had this year but my goodness what is with the kicking? Never in professional football have I seen a keeper kick it directly out of play from a dead ball that many times. I stopped counting at 6.

So, what has changed under the new management? The defence looks a bit more organised, but midfield and attack still look woefully inadequate for this level. You have to wonder at our tactics in the first half. Playing into a strong wind, we persisted in hoofing the ball away, first touch, up into the air. Gobbled up by a well organised and mobile Fylde midfield. Of course. The second half was drifting towards us conceding a second goal, when suddenly we score. Credit the management for bringing on Robinson, but you have to wonder why Romain wasn't given a run and Paxman only five minutes. The game was crying out for someone to pass the ball into space for somebody quick to run on to. Can only think Fylde will be kicking themselves for letting two points go at 'buffet Gallagher', while for us, though the point makes a welcome change, the performance was once again nothing special. With others winning around us, we are now seven points from safety and have the worst goal difference in the league too. NLS beckoning.
