Ever is a long time, you presumably mean since 1897. But Harry Hill managed during our worst season (in my time) of 1967/68, but that doesn't mean he was one of the worst, because he was under instructions to fight a campaign in the Isthmian League using only local players, so he never stood a chance.
My point being, are there really five "worst" managers in our history? There may be only one....

My over-riding memory of Lillis was as a player during that grim final season in the League where we started so badly.....away to Aldershot at 0-0 and him ballooning a penalty into orbit..............

Lillis was actually a good player when he could be bothered to try, instead of poncing around flicking his hair. Sadly, the latter happened all too often.
