A stones legend of the early reformation years ,didn't even know he was ill . I am shocked completely and utterly shocked . As nice a man as you could ever wish to meet and drink with. I know many of our supporters now will have never heard of him but trust me he was pure class. What is the world coming to when such good people die so young.

And he once played in goal! Because we needed and he put his hand up
A true Stones legend and a great ball playing midfielder to boot
RIP Peter

Such sad news. A great player and, as Sword says, a thoroughly nice man.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.

This is very sad. Peter was a key player during our County League days. He came in when we were struggling and added some real class. To go so youmg is so sad...

Such a sad loss of such a nice guy, R.I.P. Peter. I hope the club are arranging some tribute on Saturday or I will be very angry if they do not. Overs was the type of player we desperately need now but alas class is not so easy to find.

What sad, desperate and awful news. My condolences and best wishes are sent to his family.
I once sponsored Peter Overton for a season and loved it when I was able to say we won a cup after Adrian Sharpe-sponsored Peter Overton got the winner. He added a little touch of class to our midfield because he passed the ball around really well.
Again, condolences to the family of Peter Overton on this tragic news.

I think maybe us as fans could organise a 1 min. tribute maybe to commence on his shirt number as well.

We might struggle to get it out before Saturday,s game but maybe we can arrange it for our next home game with help from the club we could let everyone know to get ALL of the fans involved even the away fans. Plus an announcement in the matchnday programme.
