Would I be correct in saying that during season 1993/1994, Oldham were in the Premier League and Maidstone started their first season in Kent County League division 4? Yes, on both counts 93/94 Oldham's relegation season from FA Premier League 93/94 Maidstone promoted from KCL Div 4 West (at the time level 13 to us but officially level 14 *)

Will of course be tough but winnable, no tougher frankly that Stevenage and we're a better team now. Would imagine a good chance of some TV to add to the coffers. personally disappointed as I have good friends who are Hampton supporters and it would have been nice to have them down for a day, plus of course it would have been an easier tie but there you go, it is what it is and we could have had far worse draws. Watched it on BT Sport and there is no doubt Oldham deserved to win. As Dave U said, never a penalty and Oldham had a very good shout for one turned down. They will certainly feel the result did them justice.

It will be the first time we have ever played a ex Premier League team. 1992-93 and 1993-94 when they were relegated but reached the semi final of FA Cup in that season

Might be on TV now. Wrexham v Newport definitely will, and if they get through a replay so will Tranmere v Southport, but otherwise there aren't many other attractive matches

Oldham - current form: LLWLLD (3rd from bottom) - 4pts (from 18) GD -3 League: 15th - 17 5 6 6 21 18 +3 21 (Repeat of my earlier post) Didn't see the game tonight, but - on paper, at least - not much better than Macc. Wouldn't expect a win - but we should give them a good game. And at home, with the EE in full voice, who knows?

I am glad Oldham won as this is a game we can win with no pressure compared to Hampton getting through.

From what’s been said on here this evening, it didn’t sound like this match was a great tv spectacle, just wonder if this might influence the selection process for tv coverage in December

I think there is still a number of potential live games depending on replays, Maidstone v Oldham, guiseley v fleetwood, billericay v grimsby, Solihull v blackpool, Salford v Scunthorpe, Halifax v Wimbledon, Sutton or slough v gills. Not sure if they decide before the replays or wait till played.

It will be the first time we have ever played a ex Premier League team. We played MK Dons (previously Wimbledon FC who were in the old 1st division (now called the premier league) in the late 80s), at this stage of the cup last year.

A chance to showcase the benefits of a 3G surface whilst other games are postponed you mean? Bit like Fridays game at Haringey in heavy rain - I watched most of that one and can’t remember (?) any of the usual negative comments about the plastic surface
