They did have seats, quite a lot of them - we sit in the low 30s, and they were right next to us, separated only by a very reassuring one meter wide strip of 'cloth'.
Mind you, given the colours are practically the same, it was only their slightly livelier reaction to the game that made me realise that they WERE away fans.

My memories of the 78 final were that Folkestone and Shepway played in red shirts and won with a late goal.The Shepway bit confused me at the time as i didn’t recal seeing them play on The Green (maybe they got changed in the Manor Youth Club).They also had a good little player named Ovard who’s first name might have been Frank?..I thought he might have made a good signing for us at the time.
