Looks like a vote in favour of freehold (20.49).

Not totally clear, but that was my understanding too - just 1 vote against

So just to be clear was it voted 14 for and 1 against or did some abstain?

looking at it(shame about the mike) it went through.
The 10-1 was for to seek further classification of the use/sale of the land should we out grow the stadium ie bringing it back into council ownership. Also there was mention of the bridge footings that if work needed carrying out the council would be aloud access.

No abstentions. The number voting "for" wasn't confirmed, but I'd assume, like yourself, it was 14.

it was hard to tell ob1 as the mike went off and they went long shot with the cam. They seem to have a handfull of people at these meetings although they sit at the table are unable to vote for one reason or another.
My guess 12-3

I hope DaveU behaved himself? All very civilised. The vote to sell the freehold was unanimous. The vote on the conditions was 14-1 in favour, the one against was cllr Harwood i believe, who wanted assurances that should we outgrow the ground it won't end up as "retail sheds", clearly a reference to London Road.

He does have a point! I don't think it was something they were going to neglect, but he seemed to want to sort it out there and then. Could have been there going round in circles all night. He certainly loves the sound of his own voice.

I've known quite a few councillors in my time and most of them do it because it makes them feel important. Most of them aren't really up to the job either. A few really are there for the right reasons and some are doing it as an 'apprenticeship' before moving on to national politics, but most of them are the sort of people you wouldn't actually let do any sort of important job.
The irony is they don't actually have much power - but everybody blames them if something goes wrong (when usually it's the government or KCC's responsibility).

Every bit of your post is so wide of the mark! Sorry mate. Never mind, bit off topic and we should be happy with tonight's outcome. COYS.
