Phew! A ridiculously tense end for a game we should have bossed. Three points is THREE POINTS though!
Still unbeaten at home...
And some odd results in the NL today - Tranmere, D&R, Fleet, Aldershot, even Sutton nearly blew it. Although Hartlepool wasn't one of them - I wonder if it's beginning to sink in yet that this isn't the breeze they thought it would be...

Should have been a lot more comfortable. Totally dominated for 90 minutes but just couldn't take our chances. Pigs seriously in need of some shooting practice. Ref was awful, lost count of the cards in a game that was virtually trouble free.

Wrexham players must be tearing Carrington a new one for his stupidity in getting their second red card.

Wrexham's discipline was appalling. Pearson and Jennings in particular. They just didn't know when to close their mouths. Swearing and moaning at the smallest of decisions. As for the game, should of been more comfortable but just pleased to get out first win. So pleased for Richards to get his goal, hopefully his injury isn't too serious. Hopefully we can kick on from here now! COYS!!!

Good game today. We played well. Gutted we couldn't score more to improve our goal difference. Goals are always a problem for us. Pigott looked annoyed as he walked off. The goals will come for him. Hines bought some energy to the team. Can't wait until he is match fit. Richards was brilliant. Gutted he went off injured. Hope he is ok. Wynter controlled the defence. He was brilliant. Paxman did nothing again when he came on apart from keep giving the ball away and giving away stupid free kicks. Needed that win as a tough game at sutton next week.

Half way through the second half along the West side, all I could hear behind me were three middle aged part timers paying no attention to the game (but saying they had enjoyed today) discussing which game they would go to next. one said "fancy Millwall or the Gills". That would be great said one of the other middle aged wide boy losers.

What a terrible game of football, we were very lucky to get 3 points IMO. Why can't the team just kill the game off? So annoyed with the sloppy ness in front of goal today we should of buried them when they went down to 9 and Wrexham might of equalised if we were not careful. We have a good squad who should be a bit more clinical every were else was really good today. Defensivly really solid apart from their opening goal, I was impressed with prestiage too who took control of the midfield. When the injures and suspensions dry up our squad will be much stronger as the season progresses just need to bury the bloody chances!

I still have my doubts about Pigott. I never really understood the fuss about him last season, but he improved towards the end, so I was happy to keep him on - but I never thought we should build the team round him, like some on here seemed to think. And, anyway, if he really was that good, how come we held on to him?
I know it's not all down to him, he can't be expected to do the whole thing himself, but when he does get the support, he still mostly fails to do the thing he is paid to do - score goals.
Maybe now we are scoring more (i.e. some!), perhaps the pressure will be off him a bit and he'll relax and do what he is, supposedly, good at?

Have to agree about Pigott. Also, terrible getting up for headers for someone of his height.

Imo both Pigott and Sam-Yorke had decent matches Shame about the finishing but confident both players will come good

Imo both Pigott and Sam-Yorke had decent matches Shame about the finishing but confident both players will come good Agreed. Both worked extremely hard today, DSY was a thorn in their side and never gave anything up. Pigs did well and the keepaaaaaaah pulled off a couple of stunning second half saves from Pigs' headers. Some of Pigs' hold up play and bringing the ball down is very good, he's skilful and mobile for a tall centre forward. Brings others into the game too. Hines looked very good when he came on, showed some great tricks but was guilty of hanging on to the ball too long a couple of times. Should be a class act though once he's settled in !

I'm sure you wouldn't have it any other way, that is the Maidstone way 😬
