The club announced first team so Palace must have told them this for them to advertise it as so, I don' t give a shit what the Palace fans said, as we all know to well on here most of its bollocks!

Fact - advertised as bringing first team. Some people are having difficulty understanding what was actually said/advertised. Certainly some thick fuckers out there! I would have expected like probably 3000 other fans that have got tickets, at least half a dozen first teamers. So when you come on here, facebook and twitter etc banging on about, what did you expect the first team. Yes I f**king did, it was advertised. Also the 800+ Palace fans coming were not expecting to see just the u23s At the end of the day Palace are a let down and should be classed as tinpot Not actually true. Almost immediately after the fixture was announced, Palace fans were predicting they wouldn't play their stars so close to the plane leaving for Hong Kong. Palace have to take the total blame for the fiasco as they knew their schedule. To dress it up in terms of saying the new boss changed it to an under 23's fixture is to make a huge excuse for what was always a scheduling error on their part. As for them selling all their tickets, you have to remember they have a huge local support in this part of Kent. On the forum I saw a few weeks ago, the mood was, we're unlikely to put out the first team but we'll go anyway because it's on our doorstep. There will be a lot of fans wearing their colours who haven't travelled very far. I don't give a toss what their fans said. It was advertised on both their and our websites as a first team fixture. Christ, there's enough bollox posted on here for you to realise what fans say means nothing.

I would be going anyway but the thing that is frustrating is the number of stones fans saying Palace have done nothing wrong and we should be grateful they are coming down. ( most of these fans are probably palace supporters as well tho 😉) I think it has all been handled very poorly. But on the positive I think we will gain more as a pre season game against the U23's anyway.

Does anybody know what the weather is going to be like, not sure whether to wear or shorts or jeans? Should be comfortable for either tomorrow, about 19° with a chance of showers around mid afternoon.

So in fact its true You're not missing the point at all and you are right to be angry. Palace should never have made a promise they didn't have a realistic chance of keeping. They will have told Maidstone they were going to play their first team, Maidstone told the press and so it goes on. What the Palace fans said obviously wasn't bollocks because they were 100% correct!

If this scandal is the biggest thing we have to worry about this season, then it's going to be a dull one.

Binsey both clubs advertised it as Palace,s first team were playing, as I,ve said before it would be a nice gesture if the club now announced that everyone who,s brought a ticket will be able to buy a ticket for the next home friendly match for £5.00, it works out a winner for the club as well as at the next match they get a gate of 2500+ so everyone is happy. As for the Palace fans who brought tickets, TOUGH LUCK . The problem with what you're suggesting means that WE are having to make all the compromises despite Palace being the ones who have moved the goalposts. Fyi the game v Southend under 21s I think is already £5 I didn,t look up all the facts about the next game, however it would still be a nice gesture by the club to give everyone a little something back, even free entry for all ticket holders, because they would still make money with 3000+ at the Southend game.

Very disappointing from Palace. It wasn't even advertised as a Crystal Palace XI which gives the scope of a sort of "anyone potentially, could be youth, or any age set up" so on that basis along with the ticket only requirement and general hype some key players would be involved. Despite the obvious schedule they had, fans wouldn't be in the wrong for at least assuming they might catch a glimpse of the likes of benteke, zaha,Townsend etc. I hope there's a nice gesture from Palace to make up for it.

If FDB made the decision then he should of made it 2 weeks ago when he signed and not leave until 2 days before the match. How many of us would of gone if we knew it was the u23 team? Palace are a joke and should be made to compensate the fans who have paid to watch this match. £15 for an u23 match. It's a joke. £8 maximum for this game. Can't believe our owners haven't said anything yet to the fans. I'm sure you can be taken to court for false advertisement? This should be taken higher. I'm so annoyed with this. Come on Terry / Oliver, you need to speak up now.

If you're gonna start that, then I want my money back for the Tranmere game last season as they played a mainly youth side and my tenner for the Barnet game as we didn't play our first team.
I'll take it in beer vouchers.
A free beer with my ticket tomorrow, will placate me though.

Palace are lumping blame for the decision on him to cover for the fact they messed up their scheduling back at the beginning of June. You can't surely blame our owners and management, who advertised the match as Palace' first team in good faith.
