If €bb$fleet win the playoff final on Saturday then that could put as at a disadvantage possibly in the race for players in the SE area, as they'd be competing with us then at the same table again. So hopefully Jay might get another deal or two over the line before the weekend. Also comes down to agents and which players are available when of course ..... but in the meantime some of those that are around and possibly available for us could be:-
Jai Reason Released by Borehamwood
Ryan Burge Released by Eastleigh
Connor Dymond Left Bromley
Michael Cheek Still at Braintree - could be a very good signing but probably expensive/ highly sought after ??
Craig Disley Released by Grimsby
Matthew Briggs Released by Colchester
other than these Dover should announce their released list any day now and we could well be in for someone decent that doesn't get renewed there.

Matt Fry. Wanted him last year but he took the full time on offer at York. 2 year deal but their relegation might make him available.
Josh Hare. Ex Gills, brief loan spell with us a few years ago. Had a bad injury so been getting fitness back with Eastbourne. Versatile.
Joe Oastler. Another who's been in NLS getting fitness back after a bad injury, also versatile.
Connor Essam. Another one we missed out on, late shun to go to Dover on loan, but now released by Ebbsfleet. 2nd chance?
Sammy Moore. Another we wanted before, Kent lad (Deal). Out of contract at Orient.
Joe Pigott. Local lad released by Cambridge.
James Dunne. Released by Cambridge, mates with Pigott, from Farnborough - perhaps islandstone can sway him? Tough tackler. Wage demands would be high I'd suspect.
Sam Muggleton. Ex Gills, knows this league well, and out of contract at York. Still young. Likes the Wetherspoons in the High Street.
Amine Linganzi. Out of our wage budget, I would guess. Another ex Gills, likely to be released by Portsmouth this summer.
2 of these have signed for us.

Cheek has been good last couple of seasons, would be a great signing but I would think most teams in our division local to us would be in for him. Disley was an absolute legend at Grimsby, many gutted up there that he hasn't been offered another deal. Consistently one of the best midfielders in the National League in recent years only question is his age and would think he'd be expensive for us. A natural leader and vastly experienced, we'd be very lucky to have him. Ive mentioned before Josh Gowling, centre half also released by Grimsby who played previously for the Gills among others. Would be a significant improvement for us in that position. Challenge with players from out of area or with no ties to the area is whether they'd relocate their families for the money we're prepared to pay. That being said as we move forwards if we're serious about challenging in this league we'd have to start fishing in a wider pond.

Essam is decent - plenty of experience although still reasonably young, confidence shattered at Leyton Orient after his game went off the boil, but would be decent for us. Muggleton is not well thougt of by fans it seems, Eastleigh fans were glad to see the back of him as were Barnet fans. Daniel Parslow Released by Cheltenham would be a good shout - similarly Amari Morgan-Smith if we can't get Joe Pigotts signature. Both had been on loan at York and did well.

Oliver Muldoon was at Charlton with Joe Pigott. Very tidy midfielder and he's just been released by the Gills.

A player I'd like us to get and who I think we could go for might be Dover's Ricky Modeste. Possibly even Moses Emmanuel who hasn't been able to stake a regular place in their side and a friend tells me he might, just might, be a bit p***ed off there.

Matt Fry. Wanted him last year but he took the full time on offer at York. 2 year deal but their relegation might make him available. Liam Carson. Missed out on him before, might fancy returning to Kent and should be affordable. Pace to burn. Connor Essam. Not sure about that bloke Brenchley, though - bit dodgy according to the car park...

Would it be worth looking at getting Manny Parry back? Yes Braintree went down but he looked easily their best player when we played them away, he's familiar with the set up, he now has NL experience, and frankly it's undeniable that CB is where we're weakest.

Yes Braintree went down but he looked easily their best player when we played them away, he's familiar with the set up, he now has NL experience, and frankly it's undeniable that CB is where we're weakest. One of the main criticisms of our centre backs this year (Coyle and Ach particularly) has been their tendency to go long rather than play out from the back. From what I've seen Manny is the same so wouldn't be an improvement on the two we've released.
