I hope you are all happy now that the club unendorsed coach 'The Wet Coach' will not be travelling now...
So you can laugh at us wet coach wankers sitting in Maidstone.

I've never understood why people want to get pissed at/before a game - why pay all that money for a game you can't see/understand/remember?

I doubt the club had any choice.
Unless you are asking Maidstone United to officially endorse law breaking.
People who can't last a couple of hours without a drink belong in AA.

I think it's a disgrace that the club has stopped the coach, I don't see what the fuss is all about and why the line light is always on the so called wet coach, we are just as loyal supporters as the rest. I think you do a good job organising the coach kirean putting the money upfront every time.
These people who moan about it have no idea it's not a bad coach, kids even get on it with there dad's.
I personally think it's a personal think the club and other fans have it in for you kirean!!!

I don't have much clue what this is about but if Kieran is organising coaches with booze on them and it gets stopped he risks a whole load of problems. I like Kieran and I would rather not see him with a whole load of problems.

JDL, it's called enjoying your Saturday with mates having a laugh watching the game. It don't mean even one is getting totally pissed before the game they are enjoying themselves, I recommend trying it sometime!

Have you not realised they are mutually exclusive? Supporting Maidstone United is not enjoyment it is sufferance, forbearance.

The line was when you declared it a wet coach. That is what other people started to call it so kirean just kept with the name as a joke. It does not mean it was full of complete piss heads or that people was drinking on it

It's a coach going to a designated football match. If it gets stopped by police the person in charge could be lumped with a very hefty fine from the courts which would also mean a criminal record. The coach will also be turned around and won't make it to the game.

I personally think it's a personal think the club and other fans have it in for you kirean!!! Let's get something straight, it's not about spoiling fun, it's illegal to drink alcohol on a coach travelling to or from a football match! This is why I go to great lengths to ensure that no alcohol is drunk on a coach I organise Whether we like it or not, we are now playing in a big boys league where both the club and supporters are monitored by the police, in fact I have a copper assigned to me, who offers help and advice The football club is also quite right to be concerned if they feel their reputation could be damaged Nobody enjoys a beer on the day of a game more than me, however I understand that videos taken on board and posted on you tube have been watched by the police There are rules I don't like in life, and yes I have been known the bend a few, but what I don't do is take a video of it and post it for everyone to see! I spoke to Kieran about his coach on Tuesday night, he knows I don't have a problem with it in general, in fact I 'gave' him a couple of customers for his Braintree coach because I had too many, there was a suggestion on facebook last night from one individual that I stopped the coach, this is libellous, why would I be worried about an unofficial coach when I've out sold two double deckers recently? The fine for an organiser who breaks the rules can be upwards of 20K, that's about £500 each for those on the 'wet' coach, how many would be happy to cough that up? There's a simple way for an unofficial coach with like minded people to still run, leave earlier and go to the pub earlier if you want, but don't drink on a coach unless you want to a) get it turned around b) get the organiser fined or c) the police stopping it run It's the law!

Tim is absolutely correct on this. It may not be a good law as it probably encourages binge drinking when arriving at away games instead of steady drinking on the way there. But it is the law and as they say the law is an ass at times. Until it changes there is nothing to do but abide by it.

I know the guy who runs kent away travel for qpr. And he says it's a huge worry for him to keep away travel coaches dry, As police have enforced the LAW much more tightly in recent years coaches are regularly turned around countrywide now and organizers regularly finded. As he is now responsible for all his passengers HE is open to prosecution and not the the coach company and not the drinking passengers nor the club [ unless it's them organizing the travel itself and most no longer take the risk.] We might not like it but now we are in with the big boys the police are now looking at us so wet football coach are a thing from the past or the county leagues.
