Just visited the shots forum, and they described us as having a ground with no parking, shit views and a naff plastic pitch. We look forward to welcoming them all tomorrow!

Wasn't they the team at the start of the season who wouldn't allow us to video the game at their stadium?

Didn't we have this discussion last week? Then it was Dave trying to whip up a firestorm of moral outrage.
Aldershot fans travelling today: Welcome to Maidstone. We are a friendly bunch; you will enjoy chatting to us at one of the many town centre pubs near the ground. There is plenty of parking nearby in return for a small fee. Apologies for the poor view. Like you, we plummeted to the very depths of non league. Unlike you we lost our ground and are now doing everything possible to improve facilities at our modern but basic new home. The pitch is one of the better playing surfaces around and often favours opposing teams who play attractive football. Obviously I hope you are not one of those. Get here early and claim a pitch side view, or borrow your child's step stool for the day. These games against ex-league clubs are what get fans of a certain age rather excitable.

Are we going to be turning people away at ten to three?

At least they don't have to take a trek through some park to get to thier end. We were very respectful at their ground when they had a tribute to somebody who had died and then they called us a load of pikeys. Nice bunch.

I just don't get opposition fans whining about other clubs' facilities. If you don't like it stay away. I'm sure they have plenty of fans who will come without moaning. At least we're doing something about our facilities.

It's up there with "This place is a shithole, I want to go home"

It's up there with "This place is a shithole, I want to go home" Which is not a chant I would ever join in with. Chants should be in support of The Stones, not about the opposition's town/ground, unless it's ironic like the wheels on your house chant at Woking a few years ago.

I preferred the 'wheels on your stand go round and round' as sung to chelmsford fans in our cup match about 10 years ago! For those who didn't know Chelmsford terrace at each end are mobile and are wheeled in and out for the match!

If you take a look on our message board and the matchday thread you will see mostly positive comments on what our following thought of the day. Most negatives came from those who didn't attend and were trying to guess what it would be like. My thoughts are below. I hope you can survive and if we don't go up I'd definitely return next season, midweek or weekend! Really liked your club and facilities..... From the moment we arrived at the charity run Job Centre car park to the minute we left all volunteers, stewards and police etc etc were welcoming and chatty. Not far away, plenty of parking with a good set up, very nice little non league stadium with a sweet pitch, good staff and easy to get away after. Only negative was I thought £2.50 for a standard sausage roll was far too expensive :!: Friendly clubs like this shouldn't have to host our small following of idiots...

Your fans were OK - didn't see any 'idiots'. Considering the lousy view they had, they were very positive and friendly - and, from our position at the 'away' end of the stand, they outsung the Town End most of the game. With a bit of luck (for us!), you'll be back next season, and then you'll have one of the best away fans' views in the whole NL. And hopefully (but I guess, unlikely), no segregation.

Every club has a few supporters who will make comments like that - let's face it, we're no exceptions. We always have to be careful not to take the view of one or two posters on a fans forum and then think they represent the bigger group.
